The Great Outdoors

For a true sense of the Texas Hill Country, head to Government Canyon State Natural Area in San Antonio, Texas. In the northern sprawls of San Antonio, this urban-meets-rural park is a great destination to experience the region. If you want a more leisurely adventure, head out on the network of trails that showcase the rolling hills and wildflower fields. The plateaus and canyonlands of the park offer opportunities for challenges like rock scrambling and elevation changes. The only dinosaur footprints found in Bexar County lie within the park boundaries; be sure to check these out while you're here.Guadalupe River State Park is in Spring Branch. The famed river runs through this park as it cuts through the Hill Country, providing the region with water required to sustain its unique landscape of desert-friendly cacti and sagebrush, and water-loving oak trees and sycamores. Tubing down the river is a popular pastime here. The state park has tubes, canoes, and fishing gear available for rent, so you can experience the Guadalupe like a true Texan.Stray a little farther from the RV park to visit McKinney Falls State Park in Austin. Since Greentree Village is on the northern side of San Antonio, and McKinney Falls is on the southern side of Austin, most of your drive will be spent crossing the sprawling Hill Country. Once at McKinney Falls, you can hike alongside the quaint and picturesque Onion Creek to not one but two sets of waterfalls. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can head off the beaten path along some of the lesser established trails and go looking for the rock shelters that indigenous tribes were believed to have used.

Explore the Area

Those traveling with children will enjoy a day spent at Morgan’s Wonderland. This groundbreaking amusement park is the first of its kind: accessible to all ages, mobilities, and abilities. With wheelchair-friendly amusement rides, such as the Ferris wheel, train, and carousel, everyone can enjoy the sights and sounds of the fair. If you’re traveling in the summer, there’s an all-inclusive water park filled with splash pads to play the summer heat away. For a quiet retreat into a beautiful landscape, stop by the Japanese Tea Garden. Near downtown San Antonio, this little oasis is perfect for those who want to get away from it all. You can walk along the footpaths that guide you through various Japanese-themed gardens. There is also a koi pond and waterfall that ties the whole garden together.Lovers of history should definitely visit the famed Alamo. The one and only, this former Spanish mission now stands as a memorial to the Battle of the Alamo, the turning point in the Texas Revolution. Today, visitors are welcomed to the hallowed halls of the Alamo to learn about the history of the Spanish mission, learn about the fateful battle, and pay respects to the fallen. Thanks to the prime location of Greentree Village RV Park in the northern stretches of San Antonio, campers will have easy access to the gas stations and grocery stores nearby. Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
