Located just off Highway 45 that leads to the Galveston Causeway, Ron Hoover Oasis RV Park is in the perfect position for exploring the Gulf Coast when you book an RV in Galveston County.
Ron Hoover Oasis RV Park is a large RV campground that has over 120 sites, which are all full hook-up with water, electricity, and sewer connections. Every campsite is on a concrete pad, with a mixture of back-in and pull-thru, that can cater for rigs up to 110 feet long. At each site, you'll find a grassy area for your picnic table and chairs, with plenty of space between you and your neighbor.
Next to the large swimming pool are restrooms, with hot showers and also a laundry facility. In the recreation room, there is a large TV, a pool table, food and drink dispensers, and free WiFi. The campground also welcomes pets, so don't leave them behind on your next motorhome camping vacation.
Just a few miles to the east is the island town of Galveston, with all its attractions, while only thirty miles to the northwest is the metropolis of Houston, world-famous for its connection to the space exploration industry. All along the Gulf Coast are wildlife refuges to discover, making this a fantastic place for an RV camping vacation should you love the outdoors.
The massive Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge is a little way south along the coast and covers around 44,000 acres allowing you to see some of the native Texan wildlife. Something like 300 species of bird can be seen here, changing with the seasons as migratory birds come and go. The refuge is also home to large alligators, some as long as 12 feet! There are several hiking trails through the refuge, that can also be accessed on bikes. You can rent bicycles locally and then enjoy the 7.5-mile Big Slough Auto Tour. A self-guided brochure and CD for the tour is available from the Information Pavillion and Discovery Center.
Just north of Houston is the Sam Houston National Forest. This massive protected area encompasses two vast lakes and over 160,000 acres of land. The forest and lakes offer numerous recreational activities, from fishing, hiking, and biking to boating.
At 82,000 acres, Lake Livingston is the larger of the two in the north of the forest. Here, fishing and boating are popular. Anglers can catch a range of fish, including bass, crappie, and catfish, but it is mainly known for its black bass. Boats can be rented at various locations around the shore, to get you out on the water, or you can take a pleasure cruise to relax and watch the scenery go past.
Within the forest, there are over 85 miles of trails to explore, either on foot, bike, or horse. You could spend several days completing the Lone Star Trail that meanders for over 128 miles through the forest or maybe complete shorter sections only. In the heart of the forest is the Four Notch Loop, a 10-mile hiking trail that allows you to explore the woods and take in some great views.
Ron Hoover Oasis RV Park is situated right on the edge of downtown La Marque giving you easy access to the town with plenty of shopping and a great choice of restaurants.
Right next to the campground is the Mac McGaffey Highland Bayou Park, a 230-acre area containing a bird sanctuary perfect for birdwatching, and multiple recreational facilities. Along with tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, and a playground, there's also a nature trail and picnic areas with barbecue facilities. It's a lovely location for a family day out while RV camping at Ron Hoover Oasis RV Park.
At the end of August every year, the park hosts the Bayou Fest, that offers free concerts, a barbecue cook-off, and various other events. It's a great family event not to miss if you happen to be camping with an RV nearby.

This world-famous site needs no introduction and offers a fantastic day out for the whole family. Along with real space hardware, including the space shuttle, the discovery center allows you to experience what it's like to be an astronaut. Young or old, this place will amaze you with the level of human ingenuity required to keep the space exploration program going.
