The Great Outdoors

Schulenburg campers won't be short of parks and wilderness areas to visit. If you want to stay close to home, consider visiting Buescher State Park. This park is situated less than 40 minutes' drive from your Schulenburg campsite. It consists of thickets of trees encircling a 30-acre lake. Several easy trails run through the forest, great for hiking and biking. Some of the largest cedar elms in Texas can be seen in this park. Despite being small, the park's lake is a popular spot for watersports, including paddling and fishing, and visitors can rent kayaks and fishing equipment from the park office. If you want to learn more about the region's history during your visit with an RV rental in Schulenburg, consider a trip to Monument Hill State Historic Site. This park is located just over 15 minutes' drive from the RV park and is historic for two reasons. The park contains a monument memorializing the Dawson Massacre of 1842, and it was also the site of Texas's first commercial brewery. Visitors can follow trails that lead beyond the park's impressive monument, past the three-story house used by Heinrich Ludwig Kreische as a brewery, and up to an observation platform that provides stunning vistas of the surrounding forests.Or, you may want to branch out and visit one of the state parks along the Texas coastline. Goose Island State Park is situated just outside Victoria and consists of marshlands and beaches overlooking Aransas and St Charles Bay. The park is a hotspot for anglers due to the 1,600-foot fishing pier, which provides anglers with easy access to the bay's abundant fish. Paddling is also popular here, and there's a boat ramp open to the public. Swimming is not allowed at this park due to marsh grass, bulkheads, and other factors.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
