The Great Outdoors

Within an hour's drive of Serendipity Bay RV Resort, you can reach several unique parks and beachfront recreation areas between Corpus Christi and Houston. Brazos Bend State Park is full of exotic animals like otters, armadillos, and alligators. Along with evidence of Pre-Columbian civilizations, there are birdwatching areas, day-use facilities, and plenty of programs to teach visitors about local wildlife and nature. Goliad State Park & Historic Site also blends history with natural beauty. There are historical structures like chapels, shelters, amphitheaters, and a visitor center showcasing the park's fascinating past. Both Goose Island State Park and Mustang Island State Park can be found down by Corpus Christi, occupying space near the Gulf of Mexico. Goose Island State Park has gorgeous beaches, fishing coves, hiking trails, birdwatching areas, and a thousand-year-old oak tree, among other things. Mustang Island State Park is right on the coast. The park is named for the wild horses that roam the area. The sandy terrain is home to a healthy population of rodents, along with coyotes, raccoons, and several species of shorebirds. You can do some swimming or surfing at the beach, or sprawl out on a blanket for some lounging under the Texas sun. Camping in Mustang Island State Park is an option, too. Improved sites with electric and water hookups can accommodate most rigs, and the primitive beachfront sites are perfect for a night under the stars.Matagorda Island State Park is a massive undeveloped wilderness area, except for a few camping facilities. This mostly natural park occupies several thousand acres of land on a large barrier island offshore. You can camp out, enjoy some lovely gulf air, swim, fish, and soak up the sun at this beautiful nature park.

Questions about RVs?

What type of RV should I choose?

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
