RecommendationsThere are tons of amazing outdoor experiences within a few hours drive of Houston, perfect for a quick socially-distanced getaway from the city. Some of our favorites this time of year are below- Winter Birding: the Texas coast is a great place for birdwatching in the winter, with opportunities to spot both native birds and migratory species passing through or wintering here. Walk the marshy Gambusia Nature Trail Boardwalk at Sea Rim State Park, or seek out Warblers at Goose Island State Park.Enjoy the Piney Woods, and fish, hike, or bundle up and rent a canoe out at Huntsville State Park, which has some amazing facilities built more than a century ago by the Civilian Conservation Corps. In the same area, camp and explore the Sam Houston National Forest, which is the biggest forested area near Houston.Skip the cooking and trace the Texas Barbeque Trail. Wind your way through central Texas tasting the best barbeque to be found anywhere. There's a great itinerary here: www.visittheusa.com/trip/texas-barbecue-trailOther things to noteAdditional policies:1. RV should be returned in the same condition as it was rented. Black and gray water tanks should be fully emptied and flushed. Gas and propane tanks returned full (if not returned full, renters will be subject to a $50 fill fee plus actual cost of gas). All personal items and trash should be removed on return.2. Only use biodegradable, RV and marine type bath tissue. No other items should be flushed, including personal hygiene items.3. Ensure all internal and external doors, cabinets and drawers are closed and latched before driving RV.4. Pets allowed (with $100 pet fee per pet). Renter takes full responsibility for any damages or odors, and any associated repair or cleaning costs required.5. No smoking or vaping of any kind inside the RV. Any evidence will be subject to an additional cleaning fee.6. No off road travels or out of country locations permitted.7. Renter is responsible for emptying both gray and black (septic) tanks before returning RV to owner. Failure to do so will result in a $50 dumping fee.8. Awning should not be opened in high wind conditions, and should be closed overnight and when away from the vehicle.9. Overhead vents should be closed in rain and when away from the vehicle to prevent water damage.10. Renters agree to return the RV with all original contents in place, including any convenience items. If any inventory items are damaged or missing at the time of the delivery, renter risks forfeiture of some or all of the security deposit, at the owner’s discretion.11. There will be no refunds for early returns. Please inform us in advance if you plan to return early or if you are running late.12. Late fee of $100 for returns after 6pm on scheduled return day - late arrive does not allow for adequate inspection on return.
