A 15-minute drive west of the Summer Breeze USA Katy is Stephen F. Austin State Park, which lies along the west bank of the Brazos River. It’s home to the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site. The original structure was burned to the ground in 1836 during the Texas Revolution. The park's named after Stephen F. Austin, who brought families here under a contract with the Mexican government. It’s now a popular birdwatching destination and offers regular sightings of white-tailed deer amongst its mature pecan trees.Drive in the other direction, and you’ll arrive in Cullen Park, which was established in 1973 on a tract of land previously owned by the Corps of Engineers. It boasts a range of recreational facilities, including soccer and baseball fields, as well as a children’s playground and several barbecue facilities. Stretch your legs along the paved walking and cycling trail that winds through the wildflower plantings and wetland environment or cool off under the spouting whale at the water playground. Cullen Park lies adjacent to Bear Creek Pioneers Park, where you’ll find three 18-hole golf courses and a covered rodeo arena.Camping at the Summer Breeze USA Katy is also a good base for visiting the Sam Houston National Forest, which encompasses more than 160,000 acres along the edge of Lake Livingston. Anglers can try their luck at luring fish in the waters of Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston, while canoes and paddleboats are available for rent on the shores of Double Lake. Other highlights of the Sam Houston National Forest include the Little Lake Creek Wilderness and the Big Creek Scenic Area.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
