Woodland Lakes RV Park is located just outside of The Woodlands, a major suburb in the Houston, Texas area. Although the RV park is close to many urban amenities, it also is conveniently located near lots of beautiful outdoor attractions. This Conroe RV park is a ten-minute drive from the central Woodlands area as well as a 40-minute drive from downtown Houston. RV parks in The Woodlands also make a great home base if you’re exploring other cities in Texas. Dallas and Austin both within three hours' drive of the area.The campsites at Woodland Lakes RV Park have 50 or 30 amp electric connectivity and full hookups. Sites also have free cable and WiFi. Clean restrooms and showers are available for all guests as well as a laundry room. There is a stocked pond for fishing, an exercise room, a clubhouse with a reading room, and a dog run where pets can exercise leash-free. Propane refills are available on-site. The park is quiet and surrounded by trees, so you’ll feel like you’re immersed in nature while remaining conveniently close to town.

The Great Outdoors

RV camping at Woodland Lakes RV Park makes it easy to explore Sam Houston National Forest, which has excellent recreational opportunities. Hundreds of miles of hiking trails weave through the forest, including the massive Lone Star Hiking Trail. Many of the forest trails can also be used for mountain biking as well as horseback riding. There is also a trail that allows off-road vehicles. There are also wildlife management areas throughout the forest where you can go hunting. Review local regulations and licensing requirements before embarking on a hunt.On the southern edge of the forest is Lake Conroe, which is a popular destination for all kinds of water sports. The Cagle Recreation Area is located in the forest and has boat ramps for easy access to the lake. Paddling and boating are both popular activities in this area, although swimming is not allowed. The lake is also an excellent destination for fishing, with a particularly large population of largemouth bass. Some of the other fish species living in the lake include bluegill, catfish, and white bass. Piers are available for fishing if you choose not to head out on a boat. Various types of boat rentals are available nearby.Closer to the campsites at Woodlands Lake is the Lake Houston Wilderness Park. Twenty miles of trails in this park are designed for hiking and biking, and 13 miles of trails are designated for horseback riding. Small creeks run through the area, and kayaking is allowed. There aren’t any equipment rentals at the park, so you’ll need to bring your own.

Exploring The Area

RV camping at Woodland Lakes RV Park makes it easy to access the Houston metro area. The park is also a short drive from the Woodlands Mall, where you’ll find an excellent variety of shopping and dining options. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is also nearby. This large music venue presents world-renowned bands. City parks and golf courses can be found around the area if you want to spend even more time outside. If you’re traveling with children, you’ll also want to check out the Woodlands Children’s Museum. The park is also a short drive from the towns of Conroe and Spring. Conroe is known for its outlet mall as well as its large public pool and water park. Spring is known for its charming Old Town area, which has preserved Victorian architecture and a variety of shopping and dining venues.There’s also a lot to do in downtown Houston. One of the most fascinating attractions is the Space Center Houston, which is home to the US Space Program. You can tour the facility and learn more about the technology behind modern space exploration. Houston’s Museum District also has some interesting attractions to check out, including the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and the Children’s Museum of Houston. The Houston Zoo and Downtown Aquarium are also popular places to visit. Buffalo Bayou Park is a beautiful place to take in views of the Houston skyline.
