The Great Outdoors

You can marvel at the great outdoors at the Big Thicket National Preserve when you rent a camper near East Fork RV Resort. This 113,000-acre national preserve is home to a diversity of habitats, flora, fauna, creeks, bayous, and the Neches River. The Big Thicket National Preserve Visitor Center offers an orientation film, information on cultural and natural history, educational displays, and a store with field guides, books, gifts, and souvenirs. There are approximately 40 miles of hiking trails of varying lengths in the preserve. Other outdoor recreational opportunities include paddling, canoeing, kayaking, and hunting and trapping. Ranger-led programs for all ages are held throughout the year.Golfers and golf aficionados will appreciate the chance to check out the public golf course in Humble, which features careful reproductions of some of the best known and most challenging holes of golf. Play holes found at Inverness, Augusta National, Pebble Beach, Disney, Pinehurst, and more. Golf balls, carts, and rental clubs are available.
