Mountain View Campground is located near the small community of Morristown, in north-central Vermont. The nearest larger town is Berlin, which is over 30 miles to the south, while the popular ski town of Stowe is less than 15 miles to the southwest. The state's capital, Montpelier, is around 30 miles to the south.Mountain View Campground is open around the first of May through the middle of October. The campground features numerous campsites that offer a variety of hookups. The park sits on the banks of the Lamoille River, so some of these sites will also provide views of the water. This area is known for being quite wooded, so many of the campsites also offer a fair amount of shade. The campground also provides easy access to the river for activities such as fishing, swimming spots, and a perfect place to paddle a canoe or kayak. There is also a mini-golf course, an on-site camp store where you can pick up supplies, and equipment rentals are available. You will have everything you need with a stay at this family-friendly campground in northern Vermont.WiFi, bathrooms, showers, and even a laundry facility are made available for campers that stay at Mountain View Campground. There is also a hot tub, and pool access, when the weather is warm. The park makes a rec room and games available to play, such as horseshoes. The Great Outdoors

RV camping at Mountain View Campground will make it easy for you to enjoy all sorts of outdoor fun. The Stowe Recreation Path is a hiking, biking and winter sports trail that runs through the local forestland, and along some nearby waterways. Kirchner Woods is another place that offers trails that can be used throughout the year. At the Gentle Giants Sleigh and Carriage Rides, enjoy horse-drawn rides through the local forestland throughout the year.The Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center is in Stowe. This was formerly the home of the Von Trapp family, who the movie and musical, The Sound of Music, was about. There are fun, outdoor activities available here all year long, as well. There are miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking that are also highly used for winter sports such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. In the spring, a maple sugaring tour is offered, while sleigh rides are available during the snowy months.There are several natural locations nearby that will really allow you to experience the outdoors. Moss Glen Falls is located along the scenic, Route 100 that traverses much of the state, from north to south. A short hiking trail takes you to the falls, which is known to offer picturesque viewpoints. The Sterling Falls Gorge is another scenic area that was cut by flowing water. It provides views of another local waterfall.

Exploring the Area

Book an RV in Lamoille County, and you will find yourself surrounded by unique destinations. There are several historical locations you can visit in Montpelier. The Vermont Historical Society Museum details the history of the local region, including the culture of the ancient, American Indian tribes that first settled the area. The Hubbard Park Tower can be climbed and offers commanding views of the local town and surrounding countryside. The Historic Montpelier Train Station details the history of that industry in the local area. RV camping at this campground will put you within easy reach of all sorts of fun places to visit nearby.One well-known sight you'll see in this state is covered bridges. Some of the bridges can still support vehicles, while others only allow foot traffic, or can just be viewed from outside the structure. The Gold Brook Covered Bridge, also called Emily's Covered Bridge, is one that can be driven across. The story of this historical site is explained nearby, as well as the fact that it may be haunted. Another local, covered bridge is the Giles W. Dewey Memorial Bridge, which is solely for pedestrians.There are several scenic drives found around the local area. One of these is the Stowe Mountain Auto Toll Road, which takes you near the summit of the nearby mountain. The road is known for its sharp curves, with expansive vistas of the surrounding countryside available throughout the route. Once you reach the top, a short hiking trail takes you the remainder of the way to the summit. What type of RV should I choose?

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
