Located on the Deep Fork River, five miles east of Edmond, in Oklahoma, this US Army Corps of Engineers park has to be your next RV camping destination.
Plenty of activities are available at Arcadia Lake for visitors and vacationers. From boating and waterskiing to windsurfing and sailing, water-based recreation is a first-class activity at this park. Fishing for striped bass, largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish is another popular activity amongst angling enthusiasts at this park. Hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders also feel at home on the numerous trails that are present in the park.
Wildlife viewing and bird watching are equally pleasant in the park’s areas, and you should come along with your binoculars to make the viewing experience more enjoyable. Campgrounds available for tents and RVs are present around the lake for use by campers and visitors. Full and partial hookups exist for RVs/trailers, as well as other amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, utility tables, restrooms, and potable water.

Transportation

Driving

Located five miles east of Edmond, Oklahoma, you’ll have no difficulty driving to Arcadia Lake in your personal or recreational vehicle since the park is easy to access. Various highways, major and minor roads also lead to the park’s areas. If you require RVs and trailers for use at this COE park, you’ll find them at Edmond, Lake Hefner Park, and Norman.

Parking

There are plenty of parking spaces available for campers and visitors at and around Arcadia Lake. Vehicle and RV/trailer parking is only allowed in designated parking spaces. Overnight parking is also available.

Public Transportation

There are no direct public transportation services to Arcadia Lake.

Campsites in Arcadia Lake

Reservations camping

Central State Park

Central State Park is a camping area consisting of 85 campsites distributed across several campgrounds on the northern end of Arcadia Lake. These campgrounds consist of regular campsites that feature electric hookups and community water as well as full hookup campsites that consists of electric, water, and sewer hookups for RVs and trailers. RV length limit is 40 feet.
The campsites in the campgrounds are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, utility tables, restrooms, and potable water. Facilities available include boat ramps, courtesy docks, parking lots, playgrounds, and pavilions. Pets are allowed.
The campsites have a 14-day maximum stay limit. For campsite reservations, you should contact the park ahead.

Scissortail Campground

Scissortail campground is a 38 pet-friendly campsite campground on the shore of Arcadia Lake that can accommodate tents and RVs. Amenities in the campground include electric hookup options for RVs, fire rings, potable water, restrooms, and trash cans.

Recreation opportunities at the campground include fishing and picnicking. RV length limit at the campground is 40 feet. The campsites have a 14-day maximum stay limit. For campsite reservations, you should contact the park ahead of your visit.

In-Season

Boating

Plenty of opportunities are available at Arcadia Lake for campers and visitors who enjoy boating to pursue their varied interests. This US Army COE park has been known for a long time as a haven for boaters, and is, therefore, a popular destination for boating enthusiasts. Moreover, skiers also enjoy the use of the lake. The endless expanses of water in the park is ideal for sailboats and windsurfers for their adventures. Also, the lake waves are just perfect for skiers and boaters.

Fishing

Plenty of fish species are available at Arcadia Lake for anglers and campers to catch. Whatever your fishing or angling skills may be, you’ll find the perfect experience for you at the park. The park’s waters are particularly well-known for the abundant striped bass, largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish. Other fish species are also present within the lake. What’s more, fishing is a year-round activity at the park since the lake has a heated dock that keeps anglers cool in autumn.

Trails

No matter if you're looking for hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding, you’ll feel right at home at Arcadia Lake. Why? Because there are excellent opportunities to enjoy all of these activities at the park, thanks to its 13 miles of beautiful scenery and landscape. Even better, the trails are open year-round, so you can have all the fun you want.
The park's most popular trail is the 6.5-mile Multiple-Use Trail used by cross-country runners, hikers, nature walkers, and of course, mountain bikers.

Off-Season

Birding

Are you a lover of birds? You should visit Arcadia Lake and be up in the morning hours to view and listen to the many avian species that call this US Army COE park home. These birds are particularly abundant in the woodlands in the park. Listen and watch out for the "chickadee-dee-dee" of the Carolina Chickadee or the drumming of the downy woodpecker. If you visit the park in fall, you’ll be able to see many waterfowl species that visit the lake, as well as scaup, redheads, mallards, canvasbacks, and wood ducks. White pelicans and Canada geese also spend time in the park.

Wildlife Viewing

Wildlife Viewing is a popular activity at Arcadia Lake, seeing as the park features large white-tailed deer, tiny shrews, and a host of other fauna that call the park home. If, for instance, you take a stroll along a nature trail in the park, you could see a buck, gray fox and/or a bobcat. Along the shoreline, don’t be surprised to see a raccoon, beaver, or sunning turtle. The woodland areas are occupied by terrapins, cotton rats, deer mice, and voles.

Swimming

A visit to Arcadia Lake in the summer is not complete without having taken a dip in any of the several public swimming areas in the lake park. These swimming areas are open to all campers and visitors and feature spots suitable for individual and family swimming. So, the stage is set for you to get your feet wet and cool off from the summer’s heat. The swimming adventure promises to be fun-filled, relaxing, and refreshing.
