Located just on the north shore of Kentucky Lake, this state park is a must for your next RV excursion. You will have countless opportunities for outdoor recreation in an amazing mountainous setting. From hiking and tennis to birding and horseback riding, Kentucky Dam Village State Park offers a vast variety of outdoor adventure.

The views of Kentucky Lake are jaw-dropping, spanning over several miles. You will enjoy soaking in the cool lake air surrounded by unique plant life including Pawpaw trees and wildflowers. There are several species of birds in the park and lots of native wildlife, from turkeys and raccoons to deer and eagles.

As soon as you park your travel trailer at Kentucky Dam Village State Park you can head out on one of the many trails located throughout the park. For birdwatchers, hang out down by the shoreline in hopes of catching the glimpse of furry feather friends. Any of the 12 miles of hiking trails offer the prime opportunity to view wildlife so keep your eyes open as you venture through woods and along the shoreline. Transportation

Driving

Kentucky Dam Village State Park is easy to locate by car or RV, with it's location being on the north shore of the Kentucky Dam and in Marshall County, off of US 62 east and 282 west. Local roads will provide you the opportunity to travel throughout the park from the Golf Course and Riding Stables to the Marina, campgrounds, and trails. There are no driving restrictions for trailers or RVs inside the park, so you will be able to cruise around easily, whether it's in your rig or other vehicle.

Parking

There are numerous options for parking trailers and RVs, with six lots located throughout the park. You will find spots available at the airport, golf course, marina, boat ramp, village inn, and near the trails. Should you be staying at the campground overnight, parking is available there as well.

Kentucky Dam Village State Park highlights 219 pet-friendly seasonal campsites for tents and RVs. 187 offer water and electric hookups, while 18 are primitive. Amenities at this campsite include a bath house, restrooms, and a dump station and each site has paved pad, picnic table, and fire pit. You will be near the trails and a playground.

In-Season

Hiking

You will want to ensure that you pack a great pair of hiking shoes in your RV since there are 12 miles of hiking trails to pick from at Kentucky Dam Village State Park. Should it be a leisurely stroll or hike you are craving then head out to Sail Trail, a half-mile trail along the road. Should you desire a more difficult trail, Walking Trail is a five-mile round trip excursion taking you from the Village Inn to the Kentucky Dam and along the shores of Kentucky Lake.

Biking

Kentucky Dam Village State Park is an excellent location to bring your bike and venture out onto the trails. Once you park your rig you can cycle down the Lakeshore Trail, a one-mile loop that takes you around the playground and executive cottages.

Horseback Riding

If you are an avid equestrian, you will absolutely love the opportunity to hit the trail at Kentucky Dam Village State Park. This state park offers a stable area where you may venture out on a guided 45-minute trek through the woodlands and down by the shoreline. Keep your eyes open for those native wildlife of racoons, foxes, and waterfowls, as you enjoy a ride.

Off-Season

Eagle Watching

Kentucky Dam Lake State Park is home to numerous eagles, so you will want to ensure that you pack your binoculars in your campervan. Some of the best places to enjoy these majestic creatures our out on the water, by the shoreline, and in the woodlands. Make sure you don't miss a hike along the Walking Trail that takes you from Village Inn to the Kentucky Dam, which is a great way to spot them.

Shopping at the Gift Shop

Should you wish to take home a souvenir to those loved ones left behind or simply talk with the attendant about the park's history, then park your RV near the Gift Shop and check it out. Being one of the largest gift shops in the western Kentucky area you will also be able to experience homemade jams, pottery, and baskets.

Golfing

Are you an avid golfer? Then load up your nine iron in the rig. As soon as you have parked, head over to the 72 par course with a gentle slopping terrain and yell "four." Enjoy pull carts, a super stocked pro shop, and riding carts that will enhance your day out on the links. There are golf packages available so call the pro shop to make those reservations.
