This 1,000 plus acre state park is conveniently located on the shore of the Hudson River, making it a haven for the outdoors enthusiast. Within the park, there are many activities such as boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and more!

The park was opened to the public in 2002 with the intentions of it being a day-use only park. It wasn't until 2013 that 66 campsites were planned to be constructed, opening the park to the camping community in 2016.

Transportation

Driving

Accessing Schodack State Park is a breeze whether you're in your car or your full-sized RV. The park is located on the East Side of the Hudson River, and all areas of the park are accessible with your car. While the whole park is easily accessed, be aware that the primitive areas of the parks may be challenging to navigate with your RV.

All of the roads that access the campground and boat dock area are paved, so they will be easy to access. When you head South into the primitive area, the roads are unpaved, and it may not be the best idea to take your RV into these areas. If you need to access the primitive area, a mountain bike or walking will be your best option if you don't have a car.

If you're planning to visit the park for the day, there are ample amounts of parking around the boat dock area, and the spaces are large enough to accommodate your RV or boat trailer!
