Introduction

Stonelick State Park offers a beautiful setting for a host of outdoor recreational activities for you to enjoy during your RV vacation. The stunning woodlands and waters on this 1,058-acre park will present you with endless outdoor opportunities to explore, including boating, swimming, hiking, picnicking, hunting, and fishing.
Once you park your camper, you can venture into one of the four hiking and biking trails traversing through the park. The Beech Tree Trail will present you with a moderate challenge while the Red Fox Trail is relatively easy. You will enjoy swimming and sunbathing on the lake's 500-foot public beachfront. There are several secluded and well-shaded picnic spots in the park, complete with tables and grills. A shelter house is available close to the beach.
For boating and kayaking, there is a boat launch so you can access the 200-acre Stonelick Lake. Canoe and kayak rental services are available. Several designated hunting areas are also available. If you visit during the winter months, you can enjoy other types of outdoor activities like sledding, ice skating, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing.

Driving

Stonelick State Park is located in Clermont County and is easy to access by RV, car, or any vehicle since it is just 25 miles east of Cincinnati on OH-133 and OH-727. You can get there from US-22, US-50, or US-68, depending on which way you are coming from. Some of the major interstates that will get you there include I-71 to the east, I-75 to the north, and I-275 to the south and west.
While you are in the neighborhood, stop by one of the other local state parks such as East Fork State Park and Beach, Cowan Lake State Park, or Rocky Fork State Park. All of these are fantastic places to visit as a side trip in your RV, or you could head up to Dayton, which is about an hour to the north. You can visit the Carillon Historical Park there that has one of the Wright Brothers' planes on display.
Local roads within the park are well maintained and nicely paved to ensure that they take you anywhere you want to go within the park, from the campground to the trailheads. Parking at Stonelick State Park is immense due to its numerous parking spots. There are several options for parking rigs and trailers. There is a parking lot at the check-in house. Parking spaces are also available along the waters. If you are spending the night, you can park at the campground.

Reservations camping

Stonelick State Park Campground

Stonelick State Park is an ideal recreation center for RV camping. This State Park has 114 campsites at the main campground, 108 of which offer electric hookups. You will have no trouble cooking at your site whether you have electric or not since the park provides a campfire grill and picnic table at each campsite. Reservations can be made online or by phone. You will also have access to modern restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station for your RV. The park also has a camp store where you can get snacks, ice, bait, and other camping needs. Fun activities at the campground include a volleyball court, a playground, and horseshoe pits. Rental service for gaming equipment is available at the camp office for registered campers. Go ahead and bring your fur buddy too because pets are allowed at campsites seven through 76 as long as you keep your animal restrained at all times.

Camper Cabin

If you want to do something different, the park also has one air-conditioned camper cabin that is available from April until November by reservation only. The cabin can accommodate up to four adults on the bunk bed and futon provided. You will also find a full kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave, a coffeepot, table, and chairs. Enjoy a night in the cabin watching your favorite shows on the television and DVD provided. The park also provides a BBQ grill to cook on as well as a large picnic table to eat outdoors while enjoying the scenery. There is a large covered deck with a swing to enjoy as well. You will need to bring your own bedding, cooking utensils, and dishes. Fido will have to sit this one out, though, because pets are not allowed in the cabin.

Off-Season

Winter Activities

Stonelick State Park offers the best types of winter adventure activities like ice fishing, sledding, cross-country skiing, and iceboating. These activities are subject to suitable weather conditions, especially when winter brings adequate snow. Cross-country skiing and sledding will give you the motivation to get out during the cold to get your blood warm as you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Stonelick State Park. Carry your high horsepower snowmobiles behind your motorhome, as the trails can comfortably hold them. Sledding will also ensure you have some good winter fun, and it's an activity the whole family can enjoy.

Hiking

Once you park your camper at Stonelick State Park, you can go hiking on over five miles of nature trails that run through the forest and along the lake. There are four hiking trails at the park that provide opportunities for exercise and nature study. The trails cross moderate terrain and are suitable for novice to intermediate hikers. The South Wood Trail is a self-guided trail that is less than half a mile long. There are informative signs along the trail. Other trails include the Lakeview Trail, Red Fox Trail, and Beech Tree Trail.

Picnicking

Stonelick State Park has 10 well-designed picnic areas complete with picnic tables and grills. These picnic areas are secluded and well shaded. There are several lakeside and wooded picnic areas around the park to provide you with that perfect balance of recreation and relaxation. They are also outfitted with tables and outdoor grills. There is a shelter house located near the beach and can be reserved. A playground is also available in the picnic areas where you can play ball and have a good time.

Hunting

For those who like to hunt, be sure to pack your hunting gear in the RV before heading to Stonelick State Park. The park has thousands of turkeys and white-tailed deer to hunt as well as waterfowl, squirrels, and rabbits. Make sure you are familiar with and follow all of the Ohio state hunting laws and regulations. You will need a hunting license and tags depending on what you are hunting for. In addition, wear your hunter orange vest or hat and follow all the other safety rules.

In-Season

Fishing

Stonelick State Park has something for everyone. For anglers, Stonelick Lake provides you with the chance to enjoy fishing for bluegill, crappie, rainbow trout, bass, and catfish. Rainbow trout are stocked annually. Gizzard shad is also available as the main forage species. Make sure you carry your fishing equipment in your campervan so that you can enjoy this amazing natural life. You can fish around the shoreline or around the weed beds. You will be required to produce a valid Ohio fishing license if asked.

Swimming

The gorgeous wooded wonderland at Stonelick State Park offers the perfect setting for swimmers as they enjoy the cool waters. A 500-foot public beach is located on the lake's south shore to provide you and your family or friends with the best swimming experience. Swimming is only permitted in designated areas during daylight hours. You are advised to exercise caution while swimming near the beach. Be on the watch out for the fast boats zooming by you in the water.

Boating

Stonelick State Park is a great place to bring your boat or other paddling watercraft. Once you park your motorhome, head down to the lake for a day of exploring the waterways. Stonelick Lake's waters provide you with a quiet place where you can stop and float. The two launch ramps located along the waterfront supply you with easy access to the lake. Once at the lake, you will enjoy laid-back boating that is limited to canoeing, kayaking, sailing, or boating, as long as your boat has only an electric motor. Boat rental service is available at the park office.

Biking

Attach that bike rack to the rig so you can bring along your mountain bike because Stonelick State Park has several awesome biking trails to explore and enjoy. The Beechtree Trail is 1.5 miles, beginning at the parking lot on Lake Drive and ending at the campground. The one-mile Lakeview Trail is a nice short trip along the lake. The Red Fox Trail leads you around the woods behind the campground and on up to the eastern edge of the lake.
