Discover Stonelick State Park

Getting Outdoors

As part of the Paddle Ohio program, Stonelick State Park is one of the best places in the state to launch a kayak or canoe. Stick to the shoreline or explore one of the arms and find your own secret picnic spot. Bring your own watercraft or rent gear from the camp office. As well as paddling, the 200-acre is known for its excellent stocks of bluegill, bass, crappie, and catfish. Don't forget to pick up a valid Ohio fishing license before you cast a line.

On the south shores of the lake, the 500-foot beach is a great place to soak up the sunshine. You'll also find picnic areas complete with grills and shelters. Four hiking trails wind through the park and showcase the unique beech, maple, and sweet gum woodlands. You could also spot colorful Ohio wildflowers, including orchids, Virginia mountain mint, and dense flying star.

Things don't slow down in the winter, when Stonelick State Park transforms into a snow-dusted playground. Depending on conditions, you could enjoy cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, and ice fishing. Fossil hunters will jump at the chance to seek out trilobite, brachiopods, cephalopods, and other ancient relics. Parts of the uplifted bedrock are dated at up to 500 million years old, making Stonelick State Park home to some of the oldest rocks in the Midwest.

Camping at Stonelick State Park

There are also six non-electric sites if you prefer an off-the-grid RV camping experience. The largest sites can accommodate RVs of up to 54 feet in length, making Stonelick State Park a good option for family-sized rigs.

Laundry facilities will appeal to long-distance road trippers looking to freshen up clothes and sheets.
