Discover Stonelick State Park

Stonelick State Park is set in the rolling hills of southwest Ohio and is one of the top outdoor recreation areas in the state. The park occupies more than 1,000 acres and is anchored by a glassy lake that's ideal for swimming, boating, fishing, and paddling. Beyond making a splash, Stonelick State Park offers plenty of opportunities to reconnect with nature in the Buckeye State. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake, stretch your legs on scenic woodland trails, and admire colorful wildflowers.

Planning a getaway to the Midwest? Book an RV in Clermont County and you'll enjoy the freedom to explore the Great Lakes region at your own pace. Spend a few days camping at Stonelick State Park, then venture further afield to Cowan Lake or the East Fork Wilderness Area. The park is also a 45-minute drive from downtown Cincinnati, making it popular with urbanites in search of R&R.

Getting Outdoors

As part of the Paddle Ohio program, Stonelick State Park is one of the best places in the state to launch a kayak or canoe. Stick to the shoreline or explore one of the arms and find your own secret picnic spot. Bring your own watercraft or rent gear from the camp office. As well as paddling, the 200-acre is known for its excellent stocks of bluegill, bass, crappie, and catfish. Don't forget to pick up a valid Ohio fishing license before you cast a line.

On the south shores of the lake, the 500-foot beach is a great place to soak up the sunshine. You'll also find picnic areas complete with grills and shelters. Four hiking trails wind through the park and showcase the unique beech, maple, and sweet gum woodlands. You could also spot colorful Ohio wildflowers, including orchids, Virginia mountain mint, and dense flying star.

Things don't slow down in the winter, when Stonelick State Park transforms into a snow-dusted playground. Depending on conditions, you could enjoy cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, and ice fishing. Fossil hunters will jump at the chance to seek out trilobite, brachiopods, cephalopods, and other ancient relics. Parts of the uplifted bedrock are dated at up to 500 million years old, making Stonelick State Park home to some of the oldest rocks in the Midwest.

Camping at Stonelick State Park

Ideal for nature lovers, the Stonelick State Park Campground puts you just steps from the lake. It's dotted with beech, maple, and sweet gum trees, with most sites offering plenty of space, shade, and privacy. Choose from 114 campsites, most with electric hookups. There are also six non-electric sites if you prefer an off-the-grid RV camping experience. The largest sites can accommodate RVs of up to 54 feet in length, making Stonelick State Park a good option for family-sized rigs.

Like most state park RV campgrounds, Stonelick includes access to modern bathroom blocks with flush toilets and hot showers. There's also a dump station for RVs. Laundry facilities will appeal to long-distance road trippers looking to freshen up clothes and sheets. The family-friendly campground features playground equipment, as well as volleyball nets, basketball courts, and horseshoe pits to keep the kids entertained. Pets are allowed on designated sites, so why not bring along Fido on your next Ohio road trip?
