The Holy Land Experience

RV travelers in search of something biblical will find it at The Holy Land Experience, a unique Florida attraction that brings scripture to life.

Event information

Orlando, Florida may be known for Disney World, SeaWorld, and other big-name theme parks, but RV travelers in search of something a bit more biblical will find it at The Holy Land Experience. This unique Florida attraction brings the stories from the Bible to life through exhibits, live shows, and more.

Be awed by the 2,000-seat Church of All Nations, see the architecture of the Great Temple, view a model of ancient Jerusalem. Live shows are often a highlight here. Take a look at the daily schedule and then take your seat and see stories from scripture come to life, like the tale of Lazarus, the trials of Peter bringing his faith to the persecuted, the thrilling battles of Roman soldiers, and a recounting of the night Simeon dined with Jesus and the disciples.

Want to go deeper? Sign up for behind the scenes tours, peruse literature, and always feel free to ask members of staff all of your questions. There are also shops and dining on-site. After visiting, head out in your RV to your next great Florida adventure. You may wish to head south to Miami, north to Jacksonville, or west to Tampa. Options for enjoying the Sunshine State are endless.

Transportation

Driving

The Holy Land Experience is located in Orlando, Florida near the Orlando International Airport and close to several other amazing theme park attractions for which the city is known. Getting there is relatively easy in your RV. Expect lots of highway travel and crowds on the weekends, but otherwise smooth travels. Check your route to plan for bridges and be prepared for tolls on the way to an Orlando RV campground.

Parking areas

Parking was free at The Holy Land Experience until recently, but the park now charges a fee for all vehicles. Plan on paying approximately $10 for parking. Have cash, as lot attendants may or may not be able to accept credit cards. Parking is usually still free after a certain time and is free to annual pass holders. It has also been free of charge for group tours to park. Parking policies may change depending on special events and high volume.

Public Transportation

Orlando has numerous public transportation options, as does the surrounding area. If you wish to leave your RV at your campground and head to The Holy Land Experience by bus, check local schedules and ask about shuttle services. Guests can also use local taxi companies and rideshare services to get to the park.

Where to stay

Onsite

There is no RV camping at The Holy Land Experience. Parking is in high demand, and the theme park is only open during the day, so do not plan to leave your RV at this attraction overnight. Look for RV campgrounds in Orlando, Kissimmee, Lakeland, Deltona, and elsewhere in Florida.

Nearby

Florida is a popular destination for RV campers, both travelers and those who live in their trailers full-time. As such, you’ll not likely have a problem finding the RV campground for you in or near Orlando. Try the Orlando SE / Lake Whippoorwill KOA, just 21 miles from The Holy Experience, or look for the Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday, just 15 miles away. You can also check out nearby Florida State Parks for a more nature-filled RV camping experience that still gives you access to Orlando.

Getting around

Whether you travel to The Holy Land via RV, car, or public transportation, you can plan on getting around on foot. Compared to nearby theme parks, this one is quite small and there is a lot of sitting involved thanks to the many shows you’ll see while here. The park is ADA compliant, but guests must provide their own wheelchairs and strollers.

What to pack

Clothing

Pack light, comfortable clothing for sunny, humid weather. There’s no need to be overdressed during much of the year at The Holy Land Experience. Jeans or shorts are usually fine, and a hat is always a good idea to protect yourself from sunburn. Bring comfortable shoes, along with a bathing suit if you’re camping in your RV at a campground with an onsite pool. If visiting during the rainy season, a rain jacket or poncho is recommended. Winter travel in Florida may give cause for an extra layer or two, but you can leave the parka and snowsuit at home.

Gear

Bring all of your essential RV camping gear, including blankets, cookware, RV supplies, and items to keep you entertained around the campground. When visiting The Holy Land Experience, you may only bring a small purse inside the park. No backpacks or larger bags are allowed.

Health & Safety

Orlando can be hot and muggy, so pack plenty of water. Bottled water is allowed inside The Holy Land Experience, but outside food is not permitted. Also, bring sunscreen and bug spray, plus sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat, as much of the theme park is outside. Bring any necessary prescriptions and over the counter medicine, plus toiletries that you will need for the campground.

Where to eat

Cooking

Campgrounds in Orlando and the surrounding area allow cooking but may vary on the details, so check with your Orlando RV park about outdoor cooking restrictions and rules for fuel types. You’ll find a large number of grocery stores in Orlando, including big discount stores and smaller regional options. You will also find RV supply stores if you need fuel or anything else.

Restaurants

Orlando is a touristy town with restaurants to suit tastes from around the world. Whatever your craving is, and whatever your budget is, you will find much to choose from near The Holy Land Experience. Look for fast food, family-friendly spots, and cafes doling out South Florida specialties, including fresh seafood.

Vendors

The Holy Land Experience has several dining and shopping options inside the park. Expect the same kind of fare you’d find at nearby Disney (hot dogs, burgers, soft drinks, ice cream) along with healthy options and a few specialty items. There are also shops designed to give you the experience of a Jerusalem Street Market. Bring cash as well as your credit card, and remember that you always shop online after you leave if you prefer.

Safety

Security

Security and staff members work hard to preserve the architecture of The Holy Land and to make sure all visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience. Leave the majority of your belongings in your RV and only carry a small purse with you into the park. You may be subject to a security screening upon entrance, and items that violate park rules may be removed.

Weather

As Orlando is a bit more inland than some Florida destinations, the weather here is warm and humid without much relief from coastal breezes. Expect lots of sunshine and very humid air if visiting during the late spring or summer. Temperatures during this time will be in the 80s and 90s. In the winter, temperatures get into the 60s and 70s. Check the forecast before heading out, as thunderstorms can bring heavy rain and flooding to the area.

Medical

If you are feeling ill or having a medical emergency at The Holy Land Experience, let someone know and make a plan to get assistance. The closest hospital to the attraction is about five miles away. You’ll find additional hospitals plus pharmacies throughout Orlando. Drink plenty of water while visiting The Holy Land Experience to stay hydrated.
