You’ll find William H. Harsha Lake on the East Fork of the Little Miami River in the heart of Clermont county. East Fork State Park surrounds the lake. When first discovered, this body of water was called East Fork Lake. In 1981 it was renamed to William H. Harsha to honor a retired congressman.

Because Ohio has four seasons a year, the climate can vary depending on when you visit. There are snowy winters, refreshing springs, warm summers, and crisp and cool autumns.
One thing that makes this area stand out from others like it is the fact that it sits on two previously active gold mines. Surrounding this lake are several miles of hiking and horseback riding trails along with plenty of space to camp. If you're a water enthusiast, visiting this 2,160-acre lake is a must.
William H. Harsha Lake is located just east of Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a beautiful drive away from the city that’ll take you less than an hour.
Once you head on to US-52 east, it’s practically a straight shot there. Depending on weather conditions and traffic, you should arrive within 30 minutes to 45 minutes if you’re coming from Cincinnati.
East Fork State Park and William H. Harsha Lake are relatively easy to access once you arrive. There are paved roads that lead straight into the campgrounds, whether you're camping in a tent or you need a place to park your RV.
If you live nearby the lake, you could save some gas by walking or biking to the park. This allows for some extra exercise as well as the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery that is East Fork Park.
Whether you're using a tent or an RV, East Fork campground provides 386 campsites year-round. The campsites are divided into two different areas, with the first having just electric hookups and the second having full hookups. There is a shower house nearby, along with restrooms. There is also a dump station as well as easy to access trails and a playground. In addition to these two categories of campgrounds, there is also a separate horse campground that has 17 electric sites available. This is a perfect area if you're bringing your horses along with you. There are a variety of horseback riding trails here as well.
Some of the campsites are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are also some available that you can reserve in advance. All campsites are accessible by either gravel or paved roads. If East Fork State Park and William H. Harsha Lake are full when you arrive, there are plenty of other areas nearby to camp, including Apple Creek as well as several hotel and cabin options.
One of the best things to do in the area is to take your horses riding along the several miles of trails provided. There are five horse riding trails in total in East Fork State Park. From all of these trails, you'll be able to look at the beautiful foliage around William H. Herschel Lake as well as observe the wildlife in their natural habitat. Unfortunately, there are no corrals available, but there are equestrian campsites, 17 of which offering electricity.
If you're headed to William H. Harsha Lake, you may want to make sure you have your hiking boots with you. There are 12 hiking trails in total to choose from at this park. There are easier trails for beginners as well as more challenging trails for hiking experts.
Pin Oak Trail is perfect for a casual stroll around the lake. This trail is three miles long and allows you to see all of the beautiful aspects of the lake and park.
This area is an exceptional place to bring your bicycle. After you've set up your tent or parked your RV, you can easily access the mountain bike trails. These trails are medium to hard when it comes to how easy it is to conquer. Some trails offer flat and easy terrain if you're looking for a relaxing bike ride through the woods. But if you're more interested in an adrenaline rush, there are trails that can give you that too.
If you need to cool off during the off-season, consider taking a swim in William H. Harsha lake. There are well over 1,000 acres of swimming area available to the public. There are also changing areas, showers, and bathrooms available. It may worth noting that there is no lifeguard on duty, so you must swim at your own risk. If you're traveling to get to the park, you may want to check the East Fork State Park website to see if there are any advisories listed at the time of your trip.
Another great activity you could take part in is a bit of fishing. Once you have the RV parked and you're all settled in, it's time to head on over to any of the open water areas of Lake William H. Harsha. Officials suggest using chicken liver, live shad or large crawlers as bait. Visitors and locals need to know that a valid fishing license is required at all times, including the off-season, if you are over the age of 16. If you are from out of town, you can purchase a license that is good for one day, three days, or even an entire year.
One of the most relaxing things you can do during the off-season is a picnic right out of your RV. This is a great bonding opportunity for all of the friends and family that have come with you. There are four picnic areas available that have tables, drinking water, as well as grills that are yours to use free of charge. Since picnicking can be quite a popular activity, you may want to reserve one of the shelters in advance. When you're finished eating, be sure to throw away all garbage to keep the park clean and preserved.
