What if my claim payout or estimate isn’t enough?

Outdoorsy claims are initially settled with a preliminary estimate based on photos. Once you take a vehicle in for repairs, the shop may file a supplement in addition to our preliminary estimate. A supplement is a follow-up estimate based on your shop’s findings.  

Here are some commonly asked questions regarding supplements:

What is a supplement?

A supplement simply means the shop needs additional time and/or expenses to complete the work compared to the preliminary estimate. This may be due to freight charges for a part, damages found during teardown, higher labor rate for a specialized technician, etc. All supplement requests are reviewed by our appraisal team and must be approved by Outdoorsy.

How is a supplement filed?

You or your repair facility can file a supplement directly with our appraisal team here. If you haven’t already, please forward a copy of our estimate to your shop.. The first page of our estimate includes the supplement instructions noted below..

Are there any deadlines?

All supplements must be filed within 90 days of your claim’s initial settlement. If you have an extenuating circumstance that will prevent you from filing a supplement within 90 days, please reply to your representative’s last email to request a possible extension.
