Within one of Illinois’ most significant heritage destinations, Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site Campground is a modern RV park with around 200 campsites. It’s an ideal base for exploring the reconstruction of New Salem village, which served as Abraham Lincoln’s residence from 1831 to 1837.
RV camping at Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site Campground includes access to their 100 electric (30/50 amp connections) and 100 non-electric sites. There are no water or sewer hookups, although hydrants are available so campers can fill their tanks. In addition, there’s a gray water and sewer dump station at the edge of the campground.
RVs up to 40 feet in length can be accommodated at Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site Campground, and pets on a leash are welcome to stay with you (although they must not be left unattended). There are clean restrooms with hot showers available, and several campsites are accessible for those with limited mobility.
