Independence RV Continues to Grow 35 Years of RV Dreams Fulfilled and Counting - Independence RV It all started with one man's dream ...a vision on how an RV dealership in Central Florida should be run ...how people should be treated, and where fair value and exceptional customer service is the foundation on which Independence RV is built. In early 1985, on a small one-acre leased facility on East Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida, Ronnie Jordan started bringing his vision to life as Independence RV Sales and Service, Inc. It was a humble beginning to be sure, with just six employees and an inventory of ten recreational vehicles. The Parts Department was originally operated out of a free-standing storage shed. The Service Department consisted of an old lean-to off the back of the building. RV sales grew and so did the reputation of Independence RV. There was an immediate need for expanded facilities to house the RV parts inventory and accessories. The RV Service Department needed a better facility with improved service capability to handle recreational vehicle service requests for coaches such as the Newmar Dutch Star. Independence RV is the only Orlando Newmar Authorized Factory Service Center where Newmar owners can bring their recreational vehicles for service with the confidence the vehicle will be repaired to specifications meeting or exceeding the factory's recommendation In 1989, Independence RV moved to its present location on West Colonial Drive in Winter Garden, Florida. The five-acre facility accommodated the need for more towable RV and motorhome parts and accessories. The inventory dramatically increased with pop-up trailers, travel trailers, fifth-wheels, and Class A motorhomes. The current distribution agreement is in place with Newmar Corporation giving Independence RV an impressive stable of new luxury motorhomes like the Newmar Mountain Aire, Newmar Dutch Star, Newmar Ventana and gas coaches like the Newmar Bay Star and Newmar Canyon Star. The first time RVer and full-time RV marketplace continues to demand more expanded capabilities from Independence RV. Ronnie Jordan, Owner Ronnie was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, a region with deep roots to cotton, tobacco, and more recently banking and NASCAR. In 1985 Ronnie relocated to Central Florida and started Independence RV. The dealership has distributed everything from toy hauler RV s, Class B and Class C motorhomes to diesel pusher. Independence RV has continued to improve the RV product lines to provide its customers with vehicles spanning a wide range of features, amenities and price points. Both Newmar Service and Newmar Parts have become an important part of this enterprise making Independence RV a Top 10 Newmar Dealer. From the Newmar Bay Star with its full body paint to the luxury of Newmar motorhomes like the Mountain Aire, there is something for everyone. The dealership is now over 34 years in existence, and it has weathered both financial storms and Florida hurricanes without a dent or scratch. Ronnie Jordan and Independence RV Sales and Service, Inc. have been long time members of the Recreational Vehicle Dealers' Association. When Ronnie isn't overseeing the day to day activities of Independence RV, he enjoys water sports and adventures including boating, jet skiing, and scuba diving. His two sons keep him challenged on all of the watersports as "dad" has become the foil for water shenanigans. Ronnie's Most Rewarding Customer Experience "Many years ago, Independence RV had a customer, whose health was a bit suspect, and he suffered from poor circulation which manifested itself in constantly having cold feet. I felt such empathy for this gentleman, that on the day we were delivering his new RV, I purchased some down-lined boots. He was astounded at our generosity. Not long after, he rolled back into the dealership to share that these boots were the best thing he'd encountered for his cold feet. Needless to say, he has been a customer for a long time!"
