This part of the state consists mostly of forested mountains. While you can drive to Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, the park is situated in a very rural area, and due to the rugged countryside and large body of water found nearby, the primary means of transportation outside of town is by ferry or bush plane. This area is a paradise for people who enjoy being outdoors. There are fun activities to participate in here, both on land and the water, throughout the year.
