2023 Coachmen Freelander - Adventure-Ready and Turn Key!

Renting Mike and Allison’s 2023 27’ Freelander RV through Outdoorsy was the best decision we made for our Yellowstone and Grand Teton adventure in September. This RV was exceptional—immaculately clean, superbly maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything needed for a fantastic trip, including firewood and a S’mores kit (which we sadly didn’t get to use). The attention to detail made our experience seamless and memorable. Despite our flight delay pushing our Saturday morning pickup in Bozeman back by three hours, Mike was incredibly accommodating, adjusting his schedule to meet us at noon without hesitation. He took the time to walk us through every aspect of the RV’s operation, ensuring we felt confident. They even provided a detailed guidebook with video links for quick refreshers—a brilliant touch for first-time RV users like us. We traveled all through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and the RV performed flawlessly. We were initially concerned about cold September nights, especially at an RV park without electricity, but the heater was outstanding. Even running on the RV’s batteries, it kept us incredibly warm! Every system worked perfectly, making our journey comfortable and stress-free. Returning the RV was just as smooth. Allison met us in Bozeman and was an absolute pleasure to work with—friendly, professional, and easygoing. Mike and Allison’s dedication to their renters’ experience is unmatched. This RV was the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the stunning beauty of these national parks, offering flexibility and comfort that elevated our trip to unforgettable heights. We can’t recommend renting from them enough—book with Mike and Allison for a top-notch adventure!

I was charged $250 for “unsanitary and damaged condition,” even though we cleaned the RV thoroughly and communicated clearly with the host. At pickup, the RV was not in great condition — the dishes were a bit oily (we had to wash them ourselves before use), one of the blankets smelled like sweat (clearly not washed from previous trip), and one cabinet window was already broken. Another window fell off during the trip with no fix offered. The paper towel holder broke as well. How did the host deal with this? They gave us sticky tape to patch it up ourselves before the trip. No cleaning supplies were provided except a broom, yet we were expected to return the RV in spotless condition. We swept the floor, cleaned surfaces, removed trash, followed all the grey and black water instruction, and folded used towels. I messaged the host about leaving a few dirty dishes due to an empty water tank, and they said it was ok. And that later became part of the charge due to small pieces of ramen in the sink... There were no clear rules or expectations communicated upfront about cleanliness standards or penalties. This felt like a one-sided setup. The RV was not properly maintained or cleaned, yet we were charged for not meeting standards the host didn’t meet themselves. I would not recommend renting from this listing.

Mike was super helpful. He even let us place a delivery order to his house to let us get on the road quickly. Very prompt with the replies.
