The rest of the campsites are water and electric only. Pull-through access is available at some sites to make the parking process smooth. The Great Outdoors

When you book an RV in Nevada County, you'll be close to some historic state parks. Empire Mine State Park covers over 800 acres of woodlands and fields and is notable due to the presence of one of California's most successful gold mines. Now out of use, this gold mine once produced over five million ounces of gold. Visitors can explore the entrance to the mine, as well as the many abandoned mining buildings which sit nearby. There are also 14 miles of hiking trails to discover which will take you around the buildings and through the peaceful forests. If you want to learn more about the mines, there's even a visitor's center with exhibits highlighting mining equipment.Grass Valley campers will also love being able to explore Lake Tahoe. This lake is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the region, and one of the best ways to see it is by visiting the Emerald Bay State Park. This state park covers over 1,800 acres of forests and bluffs along Lake Tahoe's western shoreline. Lake Tahoe is a popular water sports location and activities include swimming and fishing. There's a swimming beach, and anglers can expect to catch a variety of trout and kokanee salmon. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you can visit Emerald Bay's underwater preserve. This unique preserve is focused on protecting Lake Tahoe's many shipwrecks. Visitors can scuba dive and follow an underwater trail that will take them past some sublime and historic wreckages.Another historic state park worth visiting is the Donner Memorial State Park. This beautiful alpine state park is named after the Donner Party, a party of travelers who met tragic circumstances in the area during the mid-1800s. Visitors can take hiking trails, check out the memorial, and learn more about the story. There's also Donner Lake which is a popular spot for a variety of activities, including swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The lake's sand beaches provide the best places for these activities, and anglers can expect to catch kokanee salmon and trout.

Exploring the City

While camping in an RV near Grass Valley, you'll be close to one of California's biggest cities, Sacramento. Sacramento has some fascinating cultural sights, including the Crocker Art Museum. This museum houses one of California's finest collections of local and European artwork, and its collection houses various media from films to paintings to sculptures. Some highlights of the gallery's collection include the work of Georgia O'Keeffe, Maarten van Heemskerck, and Ansel Adams.If you're looking for something the kids will love, consider visiting the Sacramento Zoo. There are some top-quality exhibits, including the California Wall of Fame, dedicated to some of the state's most remarkable natives. There's also the 31st Star exhibit, which chronicles the lead up to California becoming a state.

Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
