The annual Ice Castles festival in winter is quite the site, featuring buildings made of ice. If you enjoy train history, visit the Edmonton Radial Railway Society.

Top shopping options, besides the huge West Edmonton Mall, include trendy shopping districts and quaint boutique areas.  Visit Whyte Avenue for a vibrant and entertaining shopping experience, complete with stores, pubs, restaurants, and cafes.  It’s in the Old Strathcona district of Edmonton. High Street, close to downtown, has a good selection of mom-and-pop stores and several galleries, near 102 Ave and 125 St.

Edmonton has a great food scene, including local farm-to-table options, and sophisticated international flavors from Indian to French, Italian to Middle Eastern.  Alberta is cattle country, so you can always find a great steakhouse. Craft breweries, bakeries, and pastry shops are also plentiful. River trout is also a popular dish.  Vegan and gluten-free options are also readily available.

When you book a rental RV in Nisku, you can stock up on local produce, meats, and crafts at one of the many farmer's markets in the area.  The Southwest Edmonton Farmers market is open on Saturdays.
