2018 Ford Transit Camper

Camper vanFarmington, UT
Sleeps 4
20 ft. long

Meet Sherwood! He is a 2018 Ford Transit van converted to a lean, mean, adventure machine. The van was professionally converted by a California company because we’d rather travel than build, and there are way too many things to possibly screw up when building a quasi-home on wheels. We have seen people in “adventure vans” for years and always admired (drooled) from a distance. One day we realized that instead of spending money on a timeshare or some vacation program to send us places we may or may not care about, we should invest in a van of our own and see the world the way we wanted. A lot of vans are built for two people, but we have 3 kids and needed reliable and safe seating for five. Oh yeah, and we needed room to sleep all 5 of us as well. Oh, and be able to drive through any national park, or in and out of tight or semi rugged spots where larger RV’s may be left wanting. I think that’s about it.However, as much as we’d prefer to spend all our time exploring new places, somewhere along the way we realized we have responsibilities, like jobs, school, blah, blah, blah. So that’s why we decided to make Sherwood available to others when we aren’t able to be on the move. Here is what makes Sherwood different than your average tent:-Pop top is motorized and has 7 feet of standing room once up (upper bed folds back for additional room)
-Two beds with real padding (lower bed is 4 feet by 6 feet, top is 4 by 6.5 feet)
-A small (3 cubic foot) refrigerator
-A propane heater with thermostat
-A sink paired with a 20 gallon water tank and hot water heater (not available for winter camping)
-A two burner propane stove
-The ability to go from driving to sleeping comfortably within minutes.
-A tow package for use with bike or other hitch type racks, or reasonably sized trailers
-Optional self contained toilet
-Rooftop A/C (when connected to shore power)
Everything in the van is modular… so, you don’t have 3 kids? No problem, the extra seats can come out. Don’t need both beds? No problem, we can take either the bottom or top bed out and leave you more space. The van comes stocked with the basics – reusable plates/bowls/utensils, pots and pans, dishwashing materials, drinking cups, freshly laundered bottom sheets, and window covers for warmth (or coolness) and/or privacy if needed.
Please see the add-on’s section for other items we have available if you’d like. If you would really like something for your trip that you don’t see, let us know, we might just have it, or have a source for it.
A couple of notes –No pets allowed, sorry. You get the vehicle full of gas, it must be returned the same way. This van IS NOT 4x4. We aren’t quite that cool. That also means while the van has reasonable clearance, it’s still a sizable, long wheelbase vehicle and should not be taken off-roading (dirt roads or very mild forest service roads are fine.) If we have to helicopter you and Sherwood out of the backwoods somewhere you’ll have to pay for it.The van does have an inverter which will allow you to charge electronics or run other low voltage items. You can potentially run higher voltage draw items if needed by running the van or plugging in.Seasonal pricing is in effect for the van. March through October are considered high demand times. Pricing is automatically adjusted depending on your dates.
