Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
Founded in 1829, the original name for Carrollton, GA, was intended to be “Troupville” in honor of a former governor, George Troup. However, this proved to be unpopular with the residents. In the end, the town council and residents settled on Carrollton in a nod to Charles Carroll, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The inhabitants, notorious for stubbornness, resisted modern amenities for as long as they could. They didn’t get their first paved road until 1918.
