This State Park is home to the 215-acre Georgia Sparks Reservoir, a very popular destination in the summertime. History buffs will enjoy the ruins of a textile mill that burned down during the Civil War located on the Creekside. Located in Austell, you’ll find the Silver Comet Trail, a walking/hiking trail that was constructed in place of retired railroads that were taken out of service in 1969. This trail also connects to the Chief Ladiga Trail and continues another 30 miles before ending in Anniston, Alabama providing you with additional outdoor areas to explore.

Also located in Austell, you’ll find Atlanta West Campground. This RV park is larger than Sweetwater Creek RV Reserve, as they offer 157 full RV hookup sites. Should you be looking for a long-term stay, WiFi and laundry facilities are not offered here, so you might want to consider this park for a short-term visit. Other amenities offered include pull-through RV sites, restrooms, and showers.

Sweetwater Valley Park is located in Villa Rica, GA. Although a bit farther from town than the other parks, it does have a wonderful wooded atmosphere. Located 30 minutes from Mableton, amenities offered here include a gated entrance, picnic tables, shower houses, hiking trails, and a playground. This is a great park to call home base while you are on vacation.
