The Great Outdoors

Remington campers will love some of the nearby parks thanks to their diverse ecosystems and a plethora of wildlife. The nearby Iroquois State Wildlife Refuge consists of roughly 2,000 acres of marshes, dunes, and lakes. This park is the perfect spot for nature watchers, as many birds frequent the area, including snipes, marsh hawks, and bitterns. There are also lots of mammals lurking in the marshes, including raccoons, beavers, and mink. The best way to see all this wildlife is by following the three-mile-long trails, that takes you through nearby forests and prairies. There's also a nature trail that will give you more information on the park's inhabitants. Other popular activities include picnicking, hunting, and archery.When you camp in an RV at Caboose Lake Campground, you'll be close to Lafayette, which features some intriguing parks. Prophetstown State Park is one of the newest parks in the state and features over 2,000 acres of swamps and prairies where the Wabash and Tippecanoe rivers meet. This park has historical significance as it was the site of the Battle of Tippecanoe between the native people and American soldiers. Uniquely, this park now features an aquatic center, complete with swimming pools and water slides. If you'd rather stay dry, there are five hiking trails stretching for over 11 miles, which will take you along the banks of the rivers and through the nearby prairies. The Wabash River is also a great fishing spot, and anglers regularly catch walleye, bluegill, and crappie.If you're looking to explore more of these rivers during your visit with a campervan rental near Remington, consider visiting Tippecanoe River State Park. This park consists mainly of lush forests surrounding the Tippecanoe River. This is one of the most popular locations for kayaking and canoeing in the state, with seven miles of river which features both gentle currents and raging rapids. If you're not a fan of boating, consider following the 20 miles of trails that will take you along the river and through the lush forests. There's even an old fire tower which will give you sublime views of the river and woodlands below. Make sure to bring your binoculars too, as this park is home to many species of birds, including northern cardinals, nighthawks, and ring-billed gulls.

Exploring the City

There are some beautiful and historic cities near Remington; however, one of the best cities to visit during your motorhome rental vacation is Indianapolis. Indiana's state capital, Indianapolis, provides some great activities that will suit everyone's tastes. Indianapolis Zoo is one of the biggest zoos in the country and contains some amazing critters, including African elephants, cheetahs, and lemurs. There are some great rides at this zoo, including a thrilling roller coaster and a cable car so you can see the park from above.As Indianapolis is the capital, it features some spectacular museums. The Indiana State Museum is one of the best museums in the state and consist of three floors of varied exhibits, ranging from science to history to art. See a vast range of work by famous artists including Felrath Hines, or see the huge exhibit on the history of Indiana, including fossils found in the area, and learn about local Native American tribes.If you're looking to learn more about Indiana's history, consider stopping off at Conner's Prairie. This interactive outdoor museum was once home to William Conner, a famous politician and entrepreneur in the area. Now, this living museum shows a timeline of how Indiana has developed, with staff members doing various chores, including farming and chopping wood. There are also interactive exhibits that show how windmills were constructed and how blacksmiths and textile workers used to operate during the early 1800s. A visit to this museum will feel like stepping back in time.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
