Shirley is a guest favorite! She's a 2019 Ram Promaster 2500 camper van with a beautiful interior for a cozy home-away-from-home experience. With, high-end features and only the best materials, make your adventure around the Big Island meaningful during the day and restful at night.Shirley fits a full bed (our guests rave about!), large sink with a manual foot pump, fridge, a mobile solar shower with a hand-pump, a ventilation fan for a cooler night, a butane stove (for use outside of the van), and swivel seats with a lagun table for eating inside if it's rainy out.Shirley has two 100 AH batteries that are charged via 400watts from the solar panels and off the alternator. If you hotspot off your phone, she's a great place to work remote from.What's includedShirley includes: bug screens on the back doors, rain guards on the front windows, fresh linens, towels, kitchenware and cookware, french press, utensils, portable camping stove (for use outside the van), and an outdoor mat to help keep things clean. She is set with all the kitchen amenities you could need for cooking three meals a day (french press, coffee grinder, wine opener, can opener, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, skillets, pots, and more!).RecommendationsI have put together a map of spots on the island where you could park overnight - secret spots, campgrounds that you will need to obtain a permit beforehand, and places to park in a pinch. My renters have had no issues with just a little bit of forethought and being mindful of where I park overnight. I give you everything you need to plan in advance (the more you prep, the better your stay will be!).Other things to noteYou are not permitted to take the van off-roading or on any 4x4 roads like to Makalawena Beach, Green Sands Beach, Waipio Valley, or up Mauna Kea (even to the visitor center).

Missing listed fridge/freezer, replaced by dorm-style mini-fridge. Vent fan only extracts air, making it uninhabitable in hot climates. Many items scratched, dented, or taped, not 'luxury' as advertised.

Cleaning: There is a standard cleaning and sanitation fee of $75. Should the vehicle be dropped off with lots of cleaning to do (grey water and toilet has not been dumped, sand on the ground, and dishes uncleaned) then you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee.

Due to Bertha not having 4WD, you are not permitted to take her to Makalawena Beach, Green Sands Beach, Waipio Valley, or past the Visitor Center at Mauna Kea. You may hire local services to take you to these locations in a 4x4 vehicle.
