Frequently asked questions
Q.
Where can we pick up/drop off the van?
A.
If picking up at our Kamas basecamp, you are welcome to park a vehicle onsite for the duration of your trip. Alternatively, we can deliver the van anywhere within 50 miles of Kamas, UT for a flat $50 fee. Many of our rentals start and end at SLC airport. If you are flying in, please send us your flight info and ETA so we can track your arrival and accommodate a late (or early!) arrival.
Q.
Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
Road to Nowhere is 20' long, 9.5' tall, and heavy (around 7000 lbs). You'll need to take slower, wider turns, leave a longer stopping distance, and mind the warning speed for curves in the road. The van requires 9'6" of clearance. BE AWARE of drive-thrus, parking garages, covered parking, tree branches, etc. Taking a corner too fast or stopping short in the van can be a scary experience; take it slow and the adventure will be much more enjoyable!
Q.
How does the shower work? Is there hot water?
A.
Road to Nowhere does NOT have hot running water. The shower is a portable NEMO Helio Pressure Shower (blue photo in listing). The shower holds 3 gallons of water that can be warmed quickly on the stove or slowly in the sun. It sits on the ground with a foot pump that sends water thru a long hose out a sprayer, controlled by a handle lever. The shower is great for rinsing off yourself or your dog or washing your hair, outside, when the weather permits. Note there is no shower tent included.
