A 4x4 beast with every amenity of home. Easy to drive, easy off grid camping for days, easy to maintain for long trips. This is really a 2 person rig. NOT to say it can’t be done with kids, but it’ll be so cramped, with everyone negotiating space all the time. 2 people and one dog = a good time, any more than a visitor or two in the van and it gets very cramped and hard to move in. If I were bringing friends, say another couple, I’d have them pitch a tent, and share the amenities.
