Erving State Forest Campground

Erving State Forest Campground is located near Erving, MA, which is in the far northern portion of the state. The campground is situated only about 10 miles to the south of the Massachusetts border that is shared with Vermont. The nearest larger town is Orange, MA, which is located less than 10 miles to the southeast. The nearest larger cities are Springfield and Worcester, both around 60 miles from the park to the south and southeast, respectively.There is a small campground at the park that offers bathrooms with flush toilets and showers for campers. It provides easy access to the small lake that is found within the park boundaries, as well. Pets are also welcome in your camp. The campsites are fairly rustic, with no hookups available.When you stay at this family-friendly campground in northern Massachusetts, it shouldn't be a problem for you to locate any services you may need. There are several small grocery stores and a few gas stations located within 10 miles of the park. These will make for perfect places to refill any supplies you find yourself running low on. There are also a number of locally-owned restaurants that you can enjoy when you find yourself hungry. Camping with a travel trailer in this part of the country puts you within easy reach of many unique local attractions.

The Great Outdoors

Motorhome camping at Erving State Forest Campground makes it easy to enjoy all the natural sites found nearby. The Millers River is in town. You can enjoy fishing and water sports at this scenic spot. The French King Bridge, that spans the Connecticut River found nearby, is also a popular local site. It is known for being picturesque, especially during Fall Color Season that is popular in this part of the country.The park offers different hiking, horseback riding, and biking trails. These trails can be converted for snow sports during the winter, as well. They vary in how difficult and long they are. Some meander through the local forest while others clamber near the summits of local mountains. Several can also be joined to form longer loops. These routes make for a great way to enjoy the mountain laurels that bloom in the area early in summer.Lake Laurel is a small body of water that sits within the park boundaries and is located near the campground. Activities people enjoy here include paddle sports such as kayaking. Fishing is another popular activity in the park, and there are swimming spots. You will also find scenic places to enjoy a picnic lunch.

There are some educational programs offered at the park visitor center, by rangers. These highlights the ecosystems, animals, and plants that you may see throughout the park. RV camping at Erving State Forest Campground makes it easy for you to access fun nearby destinations, as well.There are several interesting sites in Greenfield, which is about 15 miles to the west of the park. The Old Greenfield Village is a museum that showcases the history of the local area. The Museum of Our Industrial Heritage features artifacts from historical factories and mills from around the region. The local Vietnam Veterans War Memorial is in honor of people from this area who served in that armed conflict. Energy Park was once part of the local railroad. Concerts and events are held here during the warm months. There are also some antique shops nearby for you to browse. You can climb the Poet's Seat Tower, as well. From here you will be treated to expansive vistas of the local countryside.There are also fun things to do in Brattleboro, VT. The Grafton Village Cheese Company Brattleboro offers a variety of products to purchase. Yummy samples are offered, as well. There is even a petting zoo in the adjacent lot for kids to enjoy. At the Retreat Farm, you can observe the daily goings-on of a working farm. Some of the animals are also available for petting. Covered bridges are a popular sight to spot in this region. Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
