The Great Outdoors

Paugus Bay State Forest is one of the closest natural parks nearby, just about 15 minutes' drive south. It's a nice place for biking, walking, or swimming on the beach. There are many bars and restaurants close by, as well as boat rentals and other recreational opportunities. The terrain is mostly covered in woods, fields, and prairies. There is a boat ramp available, and it is a great place for fishing and canoeing. A few other forests are located on the west side of Paugus Bay State Forest, including Prescott State Forest and Swain State Forest.When you're RV camping at Paugus Bay Campground, you can also visit several beautiful parks close to Wickwas Lake. These parks are approximately 15 minutes' drive west of the campground and provide great opportunities for hiking with your family or your dog. Most are open year-round, and you can try snowshoeing in the wintertime too. The hiking trails are well maintained, and there are several well-marked loops offering some excellent scenic views. The terrain is a mix of prairie and forest, and the beautiful Beaver Pond is in the middle of the Hamlin Recreation and Conservation Area where you can go fishing. Other parks surrounding this gorgeous forest include Chemung State Forest to the east and Eames Recreation and Wildlife Area to the west.One of the biggest natural attractions in this region is White Mountain National Forest, located only about half an hour's drive north of Paugus Bay Campground. With wonderful alpine peaks and beautiful hardwood forest, this is a perfect place for hiking, mountain biking, scenic driving, and many other outdoor activities. Here you will find breathtaking views, crystal-clear rivers, streams, lakes, and numerous wildlife and nature watching opportunities. Fishing, hunting, and trapping are also allowed in the forest, so bring your gear with you.

Exploring the City

Some of the local attractions are just a short drive away or even within walking distance when you're motorhome camping at Paugus Bay Campground. Visit Endicott Rock, located in the beautiful, sandy Weirs Beach. This historic site provides evidence of early European settlements in the area. Dating back to the 17th century, this large rock was etched with lettering by the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The stone was then discovered in the 19th century, and the state decided to protect it from elements by building a pavilion around it. The rock was named after John Endecott, who was the governor of the first colony.Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center is a beautiful park surrounded by greenery in an idyllic setting. With focuses on environmental education and preservation, the center offers many different programs for kids and adults. Some of the programs include Pollinator Power, Plants to Plates, and Amazing Mushrooms. There are also three main trails for walking and hiking on the property - the Forest Trail, Pond Loop Trail, and Sugar Trail. The New Connector Trail and Field Path connect other trails, gardens, and the farm.Winnipesaukee Pier is near Weirs Beach, and here you will find picturesque restaurants, boat rentals, gift shops, and more. You can also go to a ski school or just relax by the water or dine in one of the waterfront restaurants. There is a Family Fun Center here as well, where you can spend a few hours with your family. Then enjoy a walk on this historic pier, built in 1919.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
