Discover Brevard

In Transylvania County, North Carolina is the small city of Brevard. It sits right along the border of the Pisgah National Forest and is notable for the tourism and retirement communities surrounding this region. It is also well-known for white squirrels. While white squirrels can be seen in other regions, it is here, in Brevard, that they seem to have the greatest concentration.

Brevard acts as a gateway into Nantahala National Forest, which can take you to Silver, Murphy, and other small towns in western North Carolina. If you head north, you can visit Pisgah National Forest north of Asheville. You can also check out the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the other side of Cherokee, North Carolina. When you book an RV in Brevard, you will be right there at the edge of some incredibly gorgeous national forests, natural wonders, and absolutely breathtaking views.

The Art Loeb Trail is located right there in Brevard and stretches for 30 miles. It will cross the highway at Milepost 420 when it gets closest to Asheville. It offers spectacular views from Black Balsam Knob and Tennent Mountain. It’s a nice, easy hike or ride on a bicycle, and when you have an RV rental in Brevard and want some good exercise and amazing views, this is a definite must stop.

Log Hollow Falls is another point of interest. It’s a good hike for the family when you have a luxury RV rental in Brevard. It’s on a forest road just off US 276 in Pisgah Forest. The trail is an old logging road and is considered relatively level. You can enjoy some waterfalls that go up along the left side as you hike.

Graveyard Falls offers two options: the great falls and lower falls. Some people only hike to the lower falls because reaching the great falls requires a lot more effort. You’ll have to ascend and descend several stairs but the trail is well-maintained. If you want to avoid large crowds, especially during the busiest times of the year, it’s best to leave early.

You can pick up some wonderful fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, honey, mushrooms, and an assortment of other food items.
