Explore the Outdoors

It is quite obvious why most people choose to rent an RV and visit the stunning Appalachian Region: lush, temperate rainforests, ancient mountain ranges, extensive biodiversity, and too many parks to possibly name. Gorges State Park is a stunning example of what you can see when you take your Cashiers RV rental out into the peaceful woods of North Carolina. This incredible forest was once leveled by a surge of water overflowing from Lake Toxaway after the dam broke in 1916, so the entire forest has since regenerated and become a peaceful recreation haven. Now the park offers year-round fun for those who visit, from mountain biking, hiking, swimming, fishing, and camping. Gorges State Park is located adjacent to Pisgah National Forest, a sprawling wilderness known for its epic sights and beautiful scenery. This half-million-acre forest is filled with winding rivers, secret waterfalls, lofty mountain views, and old-growth forests. Pisgah National Forest is fantastic for backpacking, trekking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, long-distance hiking, rock climbing, and expert-level mountain biking on some of the toughest trails imaginable. Three long-distance hiking trails pass through the forest, and several designated campgrounds make it easy for you to spend the night in your Cashiers motorhome rental.

The van was well maintained, clean and well appointed. The rental was a great value for the money. We enjoyed the deck chairs, table, dog sunbed and lead. Everything worked perfectly and the van is easy to drive for a first timer.
Jason is very thorough in his orientation to the van. He had some great suggestions and advice for setting up the van. He was extremely responsive to questions and very positive and supportive. I would definitely rent from him again.

The camper was exactly as described & squeaky clean. It came equipped with everything we could possibly need for a weekend away. Mike was the best host. He gave us a thorough orientation to the camper & how to operate everything. He was very responsive to any questions we had. 10/10 would recommend Mike & this rig! We’ll definitely be renting from him again!

Exceptional service - above and beyond expectations! Cannot thank Chip enough. Thankfully he had the experience and forethought to check the site before delivery. As a previous pop-up owner, I just assumed it would fit. When Chip discovered his RV was too long for the site we had booked, he went ahead and contacted the park office and arranged for an alternate site and was en route to set it up before I even read the email informing me of my mistake!
Not only was his RV exactly what we wanted, it was in great condition and had literally everything we needed for a perfect long weekend camping with family and friends. Amongst our large group of seasoned campers, all commented on the amenities included, the condition, the detailed operation directions we got, and most importantly the thoughtful service Chip provided. Saved the weekend for us at a very busy campsite the weekend before a holiday! There's talk of doing this again next year - and we will definitely book Mallard Memories with Chip again!
