31' 1978 Airstream - Sleeps 6

Travel trailerOrange, CA
Sleeps 6
28 ft. long

Vintage Airstream that has been restored and remodeled by the good people at MEL Trailer in Orange, CA. One of things that sets this Airstream apart is the family layout. It has two sets of bunk beds, full bath and the large wrap around dining table makes into an oversized queen bed.Lots of storage in the kitchen, under the dining seats and large drawers under the bottom bunks. The two bunks are separated from the front living area and that room is lined with insulation and soft materials on the walls making it very quiet for sleeping.Solar system keeps the 4 large capacity batteries charged and LED lighting gives you a good setup for dry camping. If you need it, there is also a 1000 watt Honda quiet generator you can use, however it will NOT power the AC as you need an electrical hookup if you need AC.Stereo with AUX cable, but no TV setup. Go outside for the best entertainment. :)Kitchen if fully equipped with a fridge that works on AC and via propane. There are two huge propane tanks which last a very long time (i.e. over a month of daily use). There is a 4 burner stove and oven. There are awnings on all three sides of the trailer with the large one being on the door side of the trailer. There are a couple outdoor chairs tucked away under the front dining seats, I would recommend bringing whatever you want for the outdoors including an ice chest, BBQ and outdoor chairs if you like.Note that the Airstream is 28' as the length from front to back of the living space but 31' total from the front of the towing tongue to the end of the bumper. Newer trailer measurements would call it a 28' so you can use that to help size the camping spots; however old Airstream labels would call it a 31' trailer. The photos are all current taken in September 2016. The pickup and dropoff will happen at MEL Trailer where it's stored. The original trailer weight was 5,500 but after the remodel and brand new HD axels in 2016 it likely weighs more. The max hitch weight is 1,000 when propane tanks are fully loaded but with the weight distribution hitch, it works great. I towed it all over the US many times with a 2002 Yukon XL 1500 engine.Bring your own bedding, towels and pillows but everything else is ready for you to enjoy.

I have three grown kids and we used to take month long trips in our Airstream each year visiting National Parks. It was amazing and now I'd like to share and hopefully let others have their own amazing time together in nature. I love the 1978 remodeled Airstream and hopefully someday I'll have grandkids to take camping in it!
