One of the easiest things to do while in Oregon is finding a nature park or recreation area to visit. This outdoor-friendly state is full of state parks and beaches on the Pacific Coast, including Whalen Island County Park. Sand Lake Recreation Area is directly across the lake from Whalen Island County Campground, and easy to get to with your campervan rental. There are thousands of acres of sand dunes to hike or ride ATVs, with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean.
