The lake is perfect for boating and fishing, and there's even a sandy beach where you can relax after taking a dip. Fishing is another favorite pastime, and anglers can catch muskellunge, bass, catfish, and more in these waters. If you'd prefer to stay dry, the park has over five miles of trails to traverse, and during your hike, watch out for local wildlife, including great blue herons, beavers, and pileated woodpeckers.A nearby park that offers breathtaking views is Mt Pisgah State Park. This park is situated in the Endless Mountains region of Pennsylvania and contains over 1,300 acres of woodlands at the base of Mt Pisgah. There are over ten miles of hiking trails that are ideal for casual and experienced hikers, which lead around the park's lake and through wooded areas. The 75-acre Stephen Foster Lake is a popular watersports destination. Fishing is a popular activity, and anglers can catch crappie, bluegill, and bass in the lake. Swimming in the lake is not allowed; however, there is a public swimming pool if you want to go for a swim.One of the region's most popular parks is Watkins Glen State Park. This park is situated just across the state line in New York and features some of the most beautiful scenery in southern New York. The park consists mainly of a 400-foot-deep gorge with Glen Creek running through it, creating over 19 breathtaking waterfalls along the way. Hikers will love walking through the ravine and experiencing the magical landscape for themselves. This park also borders New York's Finger Lakes, and Seneca Lake is an excellent spot for watersports, including fishing and boating. Anglers visiting during the spring will be able to make the most of the annual run of rainbow trout.

Exploring the City

With your motorhome rental near Mansfield, you should branch out and explore some of the well-known cities nearby. Scranton is a classic slice of Americana and features some unique and fun attractions, including the Lackawanna Coal Mine. The Lackawanna Coal Mine was once a hotbed for coal mining, but until recently, has laid abandoned. Now open to the public, visitors can take a guided tour of these mines, going through vast caverns up to 300 feet below the surface. While touring the mines, visitors can learn about the mine's history and the effect coal mining had on the U.S. economy.Alternatively, you may want to head north and visit Buffalo. The city has a wide variety of interesting attractions, including the Buffalo Museum of Science. This science museum is full of exciting interactive exhibits that are sure to astound all ages. Some of the highlights from the museum include a beehive big enough for 80,000 bees, an observatory so you can gaze at the stars, and a collection of beautifully arranged natural history exhibits.Another popular attraction in Buffalo is the Buffalo Zoo. This zoo is nearly 150 years old, making it one of the oldest zoos in the country. Buffalo Zoo contains over 1,000 individual animals, including many rare and exotic species. Some of the most intriguing animals on display include polar bears, hyenas, and giraffes. The zoo also offers animal experiences where you can get up close and personal with some of your favorite critters.
