Lake Arthur is a very popular place to go boating, and motorized boats up to 20 HP are allowed on the water. Sailing is particularly popular here, and there are marinas with docks and fueling stations for your boat. Local organizations even host sailing races here. Those feeling more daring can also go windsurfing with a launch permit.For a more relaxing experience out on the water, you can go fishing. There are many species of fish that are native to the lake, but the park also stocks a number of additional species. You can expect to find largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, walleye, and muskellunge. You can also go ice fishing here in the winter. During the summer, the lake is open for swimming. There are two swimming beaches at the state park, one on the north shore of the lake and the other on the south coast of the lake. The beach on the south shore also has a sand volleyball court.Moraine State Park also has an extensive network of trails for hiking while you're motorhome camping near Butler Township, PA. There are scenic, easy loops running around the lake and through the woods, as well as more challenging options with hilly terrain. Some trails are open for cross-country skiing in the winter, and there are also some trails where horseback riding is permitted. There is also a separate system of trails for biking. There are seven miles of paved pathways, as well as a more extensive network for mountain biking.
