No crouching down in this awesome get-up! (Nearly 6 and 1/2 feet of standing room!) Super comfy, new build with the best essentials! (Including living-area insulation+heating!) We're so excited to share our campy home-on-wheels for endless adventures! We have some flexibility w/dates & times, please just ask :-)

Hiya! We are Jenn + Dave,,,+ Izzie the shar-pei! We're stoked about our newly constructed VANessa & NirVANa!, and we love takin' them out, especially for kiteboarding and mountain bike riding. So far our favorite is shreddin' the trails in Santa Cruz and thru out OR!! For our professional build-outs, we kept things simple, as we aren't "total" glampers (aka everything but a permanent toilet), and keep it open/not crammed! And we absolutely love how well it's worked out!! 😃 We used the best insulation and build materials. We just finished 35 days in British Colombia and NirVana did not miss a beat!

Mileage: 100 free miles / day

🔹Rental Logistics & Rates:
--Minimum rental period for VANessa (grey) or NirVANa (white van) is 5-7nights (depending on season), based on 24hr increments, may add on hourly at $20/hr.
--Sorry, no 1-way rentals/deliveries.
—Pick up: Choose a time 10a~6p (Our schedules and other rentals depend on timeliness; see "add-ons" for hourly). Subject to availability. (If you need to add time to the end of your trip, it needs to be discussed asap, by the day before return, and we'll do our best to accommodate...but we do have our other jobs, etc).
--Rates are calculated on 24-hr increments and are subject to change due to seasonal demand. If a rental crosses into another season, the rate will adjust to accommodate the new season rate.
--MILEAGE: Every rental comes with 100 mi/per night (accumulative). Mile overage is $.85/mile, tallied at the end of your rental.
—CANCELLATION: Under "Rates" section, click on "moderate" for our cancellation policy.
🔹Location: Alameda (See map). We are a lot closer to OAK airport (about 15min Lyft/cab). If coming from SFO, take Bart into Oakland (Lake Merrit station) & a short Lyft ride to the van (total 60~90min). PARKING in Alameda near van is easy (& no street sweeping on 5th St.+)
🔹Maintenance & Responsibility:
🔹Vehicle Consultation: On pick-up, our staff will provide you with a complimentary vehicle consultation. Includes an explanation of all interior and exterior features as well as driving tips. Physical drivers license required @pick-up. (Plan for about 1 hour.)
🔹Fuel: You are required to use the correct fuel (87octane), replace amount used (always @full), and protect the vehicle against inclement weather. Failure to do so will result in damages due.
🔹CLEANING: Due to Covid -19 Cleaning fee is now a minimum of $150 .The campervan & it’s accessories (including dishes), to be returned in a clean and respectable state. (This does Not include bedding, restocking, & dumping; we do that.) If the van is returned to a state that requires extra cleaning (i.e. dirt/dust/sand/bugs/dishes/etc) there will be additional cleaning fees: $20+ inside and/or outside, when applicable, deducted from security deposit. (Reminder, a mandatory $150 cleaning fee is automatically charged at the time of reservation.) **DO NOT USE A "SQUEEGEE" ON VAN BODY (ok to use as intended for windows...)
🔹Tire/Windshield Damage: We change tires on a regular basis due to normal wear and tear. All other damages incurred to the tires/wheels/windshield is the customer's responsibility.
🔹TOLLS & Citations: "FasTrak"(The Bay Area's automatic toll system) is connected to our van, so *just drive thru* (no need to pay @booth). If we are notified by authorities that we may be responsible for payment of a citation, a $50 processing fee will be charged for each notification. If we are required to pay any citation, you authorize us to charge all such payments/processing fees to the credit/debit card you used to pay for your rental. We will of course, give you a heads up and allow you to change the card on file for payment. (Citations include but not limited to: parking, trespassing, traffic, towing, and tolls).
🔹Smoking is prohibited in our vehicles. A $500 cleaning fee will apply upon return of the vehicle if there is evidence that smoking occurred.
🔹Late Fee: minimum $30 (30min). For further details, see Outdoorsy "Late Fees". *Our schedules and other rentals depend on timeliness.*
🔹Animals: Dog (1 max; No cats due to allergies) is permitted with prior approval. $50 flat rate per rental. (A $50~$200 pet fee is required for excessive mess.) A $200 fee for evidence of an unapproved pet in the vehicle. ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ON THE BED; please bring your own doggie bed (or see "add-ons" to rent).
🔹Accessories:
-All equipment provided (table, cookware, chairs, bedding, etc.) is the responsibility of the renter to maintain during the duration of the rental. You authorize us to charge all replacement costs to the credit/debit card for any rental equipment returned damaged, broken, lost, or stolen.
-Additional gear/accessories are subject to availability. (see "add-on's" to rent). Our inability to provide accessories does not allow the cancellation terms to be void.
-Accessories ordered cannot be canceled on day of pick-up.
🔹Do NOT:
--enter any off-road areas/closed roads (If you travel in a restricted area, you’ll be liable for damages to vehicle, towing charges, along with additional expenses of a breakdown/accident, and insurance may be void.
--travel outside of the US (including Mexico or Canada)
--climb on roof. Just don't. (Any issues, pls contact us and/or road-side assist).
--use propane devices inside van (if so, is at your own risk, with window open for ventilation, per device manuals).
🔹Note - -We do not accept any liability for injuries incurred by passengers traveling in the back of the vehicle and/or while not using seat belts. (2 belts total, only in front).
🔹🔥BURNING MAN🔥 is a special event with a lot of details. There is a higher rental, deposit, and cleaning rates for this event (ballpark is under: $5k NirVANa, $3400 VANessa, primarily d/t extra wear). The BM package includes: expert advice😄, ample water, 2 bikes, cassette toilet, and there's a special prep session in advance of the rental.

NirVANa worked out great for our road trip. It was spotless and in beautiful condition and super easy to drive. The set up is very functional, the bed comfy, and the fridge is roomy and kept the food cold even when not driven for a couple of days. It was missing glassware/cups so be sure to check what dishes are there and the fuel bottle for the Colman mini grill was empty. Luckily we brought an extra.My reason for the 4 stars in communication is Dave is very particular about his van and spent a good deal of time going over how important is was to not scratch it, not even the bumpers or the internal wheel wells in the "garage". It left us feeling a bit stressed and unsure why he would rent this vehicle to which he seems quite attached and invested in its mint condition. I think Jenn and Dave should add this caveat to their post as I may have passed if I knew a scratch on the bumper would be an issue. Thankfully we returned it without a scratch....at least that we found.

NirVANa, lives up to it's name, pure bliss! My 17 year old son and I had a wonderful trip. We camped out at the coast, went eMTBing, traveled and lived in the van and it all worked flawlessly. Dave and Jenn were great. The van is very well appointed and other than adding our food and beverages, we had everything we needed for a perfect road trip.

We actually used NirVANa as an extra bedroom when our house was overflowing over the holidays. It’s a beautiful vehicle, well equipped with everything you could need, and our guests were warm and cozy and comfortable. Jenn and Dave were responsive, professional, and easy to work with. This was our first time renting a van: we loved the experience and we loved Nirvana! Dave and Jenn were professional, helpful and extremely responsive as they worked with us to schedule the rental, instructed us on the features of Nirvana, and gave us tips to make our trip a success. We went to Mammoth Lakes, CA where the night-time temperatures were in the teens. The insulation package and heater system kept us warm and comfortable. This is truly a four season van. The heater runs on a gas tank with great capacity to run multiple nights and mornings uninterrupted if necessary. Nirvana has a simple, spacious layout and great adjustable lighting. Kitchen is well stocked for two and fridge and storage cabinet had more capacity than we needed for four days of food. The van’s power configuration is great because it has an inverter to allow for small appliances to be plugged in and multiple USB power outlets that keep phones, speakers, laptops charged all on the solar/internal power system. It was a great set up for our trip. We took our mountain bikes, hiking gear, and camping supplies – all which fit easily in the vans spacious “garage”. The bed was a bit firm, but we had plenty of room and space to sit up. We would rent this van again and recommend Dave and Jenn to our friends.
