This park is the largest city park in Girona and covers nearly 100 acres along the Ter River. La Devesa Park is heavily wooded with hundreds of trees scattered across the park, making this the ideal for a family walk away from the busy city center. There are also some open areas across the park, including by the river where you can enjoy a picnic or relax with friends and family. If you'd prefer to head to the seaside and uncover some of the beautiful nature parks along the coast, consider Muntanyes de Begur. This nature park is located about an hour away near the city of Palafrugell and features rugged cliffs and lush woodlands home to many rare and endangered critters. Some great hiking trails loop around the park, and while exploring watch out for rare animals, like the greater horseshoe bat, European shag, and pallid swifts.
