On the Gulf of Mexico, the refuge is made up of extensive coastal prairies, freshwater wetlands, mudflats, and beaches. It’s a natural haven for birdlife as well as land mammals and many amphibious species. The refuge is also home to the endangered ocelot. Try to spot some of these critters from the designated wildlife viewing platforms or join a tour with one of the park rangers. Otherwise, hop onto one of the nature trails to explore the refuge on foot.Another hotspot for wildlife enthusiasts is Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park in Mission; it’s only a short drive away when you rent an RV near McAllen. This is where you’ll find the freshest produce, obtained directly from local farmers. At the market, you can also find a number of vendors selling handmade crafts and organic products. Grab a perfect souvenir from your RV rental vacation.Other local events that take place in McAllen include movie nights and Tai Chi classes in Westside Park. Or, you can check out the city’s Sunset Live program. This is a monthly concert series that’s held outside the McAllen Convention Center. During the evening event, you can also browse the temporary artisan’s market and get a bite to eat at a food truck.One of the most popular museums in McAllen is the International Museum of Art and Science. Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
