The Great Outdoors

Nature lovers can spend some time at the LLELA Nature Preserve in Lewisville. Short for Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area, LLELA works to educate the public about the surrounding environment and habitats. The staff at LLELA offer a variety of guided tours, such as hikes, kayak tours, and fishing excursions. Or instead, you can explore the trails yourself and try to spot some of the almost 300 bird species that call the area home. Whether you want to immerse yourself in the forest, explore the marshes, or enjoy the meadows, there is plenty of variety at LLELA.Enjoy the lake life of North Texas with a visit to nearby Ray Roberts Lake State Park in Pilot Point. The 29,000-acre lake takes center stage. Whether you enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, sunbathing, or a combination of them all, you can easily spend the entire day on the shores of Ray Roberts Lake. If you’d rather stretch your legs, the state park has a 20-mile trail that will guide you to another nearby lake. With so many options available for outdoor recreation, boat rentals, and plenty of sunshine, there is lots to enjoy in Texas' Prairie and Lakes region.Experience a truly untouched area of Texas; head to Eagle Mountain Park in Fort Worth. While it is a relatively small parcel of land at 400 acres, there is very little development within the park. You can explore the prairie as you hike across dirt roads and worn footpaths while enjoying stunning vistas of the surrounding area. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen; once you surpass the operating facilities, there are very few resources in the park.

Explore the Area

With wave pools, slides, a lazy river, and a children’s splash pad, there is never a shortage of ways to cool off here.Animal lovers should head to the nearby Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch. Jump on the safari tram and head out on an adventure. The safari is home to camels, zebras, emus, and much more. The zookeepers also host several talks featuring animals like lemurs, alligators, and other interesting critters. Those who want to get close to some of the animals can visit the petting zoo on-site.Thanks to Post Oak Place RV Park’s central location in Denton, you'll have easy access to gas stations and grocery stores. And when mealtime rolls around, sample some authentic Texas BBQ. Smothered in a dry rub and slow-smoked for hours, this tantalizing local specialty is sure to leave your mouth watering. Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
