Responsive but frequently cancels, ignores safety
Kyle is praised for quick responses. However, many bookings were canceled, and a detailed complaint cited severe cleanliness issues and an unaddressed active brake warning light, making the vehicle unsafe.
Drives well, great gas mileage
Praised for great gas mileage and ease of driving, fitting into parking spaces. It's an older vehicle with quirks; issues reported include non-working heater/hot water, roof fan, AC burning smell, and an active brake warning light.

5.0Kyle was very easy to deal with and upfront with communication. The RV is an older unit, but everything worked as should. It worked out great for our music festival and see myself renting again in the future.

1.0I will let the complaint letter (edited for brevity) to Outdoorsy speak for itself regarding our experience. If Outdoorsy is fair with the outcome of this dispute, I will amend the this narrative to add the details for future renters to consider: The expectation at the time of renting the RV was that it would be delivered in a clean, operable, and safe condition. While the unit was advertised as being over 20 years old, the expectation remained that these standards would be met at delivery. Documentation indicates that this was not achieved. The vehicle was not clean upon pickup—there is photographic evidence and a signed statement from an independent third party that attests to the state of the unit. We spent over two hours cleaning several areas, including the bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator, and dining area, where food residue was observed. Photographs show the extent of cleaning required to prepare the vehicle for use and safe food storage. With respect to mechanical condition, records show the refrigeration unit functioned only when connected to shore power, limiting off-grid usage. This concern was communicated multiple times but did not reach resolution. Additionally, during the last two days of our trip, external temperatures in Denver exceeded 90 degrees Fahrenheit, causing internal cabin temperatures to rise above 100 degrees. When attempting to use the air conditioning unit, an electrical burning odor was noted, which was reported immediately to the Host. The AC unit was not used for the remainder of the trip. Two safety concerns were identified. On July 5th, 2025, while driving to Boulder, the windshield washer fluid was found to be empty on first use of the wipers. This was reported and subsequently addressed by before returning the vehicle. More significantly, the Brake Warning indicator illuminated indicating a fault condition. The Host acknowledged awareness of the warning light but was unsure of its cause despite recent brake maintenance. According to the Outdoorsy Rental Contract, the Host is required to provide a vehicle in "safe, roadworthy, and good mechanical condition." Colorado Revised Statute C.R.S. § 42-4-223 outlines that all brakes must operate properly and be evenly adjusted, and malfunctioning brakes may result in civil or criminal liability if involved in an accident. The active Brake Warning light indicated a potential fault within the braking system; ignoring such warnings could obscure additional issues, such as low fluid pressure or worn components. Under these circumstances, the vehicle was not suitable for rental. For these reasons, we are requesting a full refund of the rental fee.
