The Great Outdoors

Seaquest State Park is less than a mile away on the same lake, giving you an option that is within walking distance. Several miles of hiking trails, bird watching areas, fishing spots, swimming beaches, and a cozy campground make this small but excellent park a fantastic place to see in person.Rainbow Falls State Park can be found with an hour's drive north on Interstate 5. This recreation area alongside the Chehalis River has thousands of feet of riverfront, dazzling waterfalls, and one of the area’s only forests of old-growth trees. Hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and camping are permitted here.Mount St. Helens is usually visible from Silver Lake Resort, but you can see it up close at the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument to the east. The monument is a testament to the destructive force and the beauty of this fascinating mountain, which blew its top in 1980, destroying nearby towns. A fantastic observatory lets you see the mountains from afar, and you can even climb to the summit of the dormant volcano to gaze into the epicenter of this force of nature.When you're camping at Silver Lake Resort, you'll be within easy day-tripping distance of Mount Rainier National Park. The state’s tallest peak and its largest stratovolcano is a sublime and impressive sight to see, visible from as far away as Seattle. Glacial lakes, meadows of wildflowers, old-growth forests, and quiet camping areas ensure a memorable experience. Adventurous visitors can try to ascend the mountain and reach the top for some stunning views if they have the right gear.

City Sightseeing

Castle Rock is the nearest town to the RV resort and offers some city comforts and conveniences. There are a few gas stations near I-5, and restaurant offerings include pizza, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and American cuisines. Kelso and Longview provide a broader variety of opportunities to shop, dine, and sightsee. Longview has tons of magnificent historical buildings, like the Longview Community Church, the Columbia Theater, the Berwind-Purcell House, the Willard Building, and R.A. Long High School are just a few of the landmarks you can see in town.The Cowlitz County Historical Museum in Kelso adequately depicts the founding of the town, the regional history, and the stories of each of the town’s historic sites and buildings with the help of fascinating displays and knowledgeable docents. A collection of old items and artifacts further illuminates the past, weaving an elegant tapestry of historical information to give guests a well-rounded view of Cowlitz County.Spanning the mighty Columbia River, the Lewis and Clark Bridge is a magnificent feat of engineering connecting Oregon and Washington. Named for the famed explorers chosen by President Thomas Jefferson to map out the Louisiana Purchase, this epic bridge provides excellent views and photo opportunities.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
