Vehicle was exactly as described and really clean. The walkthrough instructions were spot on and vehicle was easy to drive and use. I'm 6'4 and was able to get around inside pretty well. Vehicle handled well and was equipped with all our needs. Renters communication and flexibility was great.

We LOVED traveling in the Red Ryder! Carrie and Barry are the best - super responsive, full of creative ideas about how best to organize ourselves on our first campervan trip, and so generous with their time in helping us get oriented and settled on our first trip. We had the best time traveling as a family of three. The Red Ryder has so much space and comes very well equipped with everything you need. Thanks for an awesome trip!!

Red Ryder is well-equipped and organized, and the owners, Caroline and Barry, were fabulous to work with. We’ve been thinking about buying a camper van so we rented RR for a week to camp up and back to our niece’s college graduation in New York State. We appreciated that the van was stocked with everything from sheets and pillows to any cooking gear you might need. Best of all, Caroline was incredibly responsive and understanding when we unfortunately hit a deer on an interstate and had to negotiate repair in an unknown area.
While our trip involved a little more adventure than planned, Caroline and Barry’s trust and kindness meant we still enjoyed our time away!

We had a fantastic experience renting the van for a trip to Chicago and back, visiting some national parks and NPS sites along the way, and staying at state park campgrounds. The van was very comfortable for two kids and two adults, and felt unexpectedly spacious with the top popped - the kids could go up top while we were cooking dinner, for example, and no-one was in anyone else’s way. The van and pop top were plenty warm overnight even in 10 degree F conditions (we used warm sleeping bags, rated -10 down below and -25 up top, but they were actually a bit too warm, and we had no need for hats or long underwear). Battery capacity was such that we never plugged into shore power. The van was also very easy to drive - just keep in mind that you may average slower highway speeds than in a car, especially if there is any significant wind. It also did fine on the somewhat icy roads in the state park campgrounds - just had to take it slow. Caroline and Barry were exceptionally kind, gracious, and knowledgable hosts, and were incredibly responsive, both to our many questions before the trip, and to a couple of questions from the road. Highly recommended.
