Situated in Cumberland County, Virginia is Bear Creek Lake State Park. The state park runs over 326 acres and was built in 1938 by the Civilian Conservation Corps after the Virginia Department of Agriculture requested a project be done to help highlight the local forests.

Calvert Cliffs State Park is situated in southern Maryland and overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. The state park is best known for its towering cliffs that have fossils hidden within them.
