Get To Know Owner Ryan Brennan

“I’ve always loved road trips, but two years ago we moved from Vermont to Oregon,” Ryan Brennan recalls, adding that it wasn’t until they decided to rent a van and make a trip out of the cross-country move, that the family decided to buy a campervan and start their own camping and renting adventure.

“We shipped our stuff in a trailer and rented a van to enjoy the cross-country trip. We had such a blast camping and exploring, so that was definitely the initial inspiration.”

Beating the nerves

Of course, getting set up with Outdoorsy is the perfect way to begin such an adventure, and that’s just what Ryan did, despite a bit of initial nervousness. “Before I started renting with Outdoorsy, I was nervous about the quality of renters I would get for bookings and general safety on the road,” Brennan explains.

Now he seems to be rid of those nerves. “The first season went very smoothly,” Brennan says, “and I’m feeling great about the whole scene on Outdoorsy!”

Catering to renters

Brennan is loving his rental journey and it’s this passion that definitely shines through when you look at everything he does for his renters.

“I chose the Vanagon Westfalia because it’s such a classic camper and so user-friendly. It has everything you need for an off-grid adventure, but navigates with ease and style through the city as well,” he says. “My goal is to send you off on an adventure without having to stress about gear. The van comes with all the essentials for cooking, sleeping comfortably, and exploring like a pro.”

Finding success

Wondering how the business is doing so far? Brennan was happy to give us a peek at his success.

“I had two or three bookings within the first week of listing,” he says. “I’ve now made over $8K in six months.” On top of all that, this new business owner is considering expanding his fleet next year, meaning he’ll be raking in even more income in the near future.
