Driving

The route to Navarro Mills Lake proceeds along highways that alternate between two and four lanes. The highways are in excellent condition, and traffic moves along well. On occasion, road construction can cause delays. In more rural sections, wildlife will sometimes attempt to cross the road. Remain alert when driving.

Parking

Parking is available at several different locations throughout the property. However, there is no specifically designated lot on the grounds.

Reservations camping

Liberty Hill Campground

Liberty Hills Campground is open year-round for RV and tent camping. Reservations are required. There are over 100 campsites at this popular camping facility. Most of them include power and water hookups. Some are also equipped with sewer hookups as well. There are five sites with attached shelters that are screened in and contain sinks.
Dogs are welcome at this campground but must remain leashed.
Among the amenities found at this campground are a marina, two boat ramps, a fishing pier, a beach, a playground, a group shelter, and a waste disposal station.

Wolf Creek Campground

Wolf Creek Campground offers RV and tent camping from April 1st through September 30th each year. Reservations are recommended.
There are 50 campsites available that offer both power and water hookups. In addition to this, there are also 22 sites with no electricity, two double sites, and one site that is suitable for group camping. Pets are permitted on the grounds but must remain leashed.
The on-site amenities include bathrooms, showers, a picnic shelter, a fishing pier, a waste disposal station, and a boat ramp. Satellite TV is also accessible here.

Swimming

You are welcome to bring your pooch with you on your picnic adventure but please keep them leashed at all times.

With a fishing pier, several docks, boat ramps, and a marina to choose from, you have the option of angling directly from the land or taking a trip out into the sea.
A fishing license is required to angle in Texas waters.

Hiking

You can travel along one of the well-established trails which leads through challenging terrain, take a leisurely stroll by the lake, or chart a course all your own through the woods; regardless of which route you choose, you are sure to get in a good workout and have a great time.
Be sure to wear appropriate footwear for varied terrain, including rocky ground and hills. This will prevent any injury.

Waco Mammoth National Monument

Waco Mammoth National Monument is a fascinating place to visit during your trip to Navarro Mills Lake. The property consists of 100 acres and is largely wooded.Waco Mammoth National Monument is a property dedicated to the preservation of the ancient Columbian mammoths that once roamed the grounds. Several remains were discovered on the premises that were later identified as mammoth bones.
The area was declared a national monument by President Barack Obama and welcomes visitors to its grounds year-round.
