Tennessee Titans Tailgating

Combine your love of football and country music by taking part in a Tennessee Titans Tailgate event before exploring Music City, U.S.A.

Event information

Come to Nashville, Tennessee, and be a part of one of the biggest football parties in the south. The Tennessee Titans Tailgating celebration is done with style, and fans pull no stops when preparing for game day.

T-Rac, the Titans mascot, will be on the field and ready to cheer on his favorite team. Attend the pre-game party and practice your chants and songs in preparation for kickoff. It is a known fact that if you want to see barbecuing done right, you can see it at Nissan Stadium.

Fans have the menu planned well, with hearty food and cold drinks to sate any appetite, big or small. Meal choices are determined based on which opposing team is in town. For example, if the Buffalo Bills are in for a game, expect buffalo meat at some tailgate events. This is a tradition that gets the most inventive chefs conjuring up ways to prepare the meal.

Music, games, and celebration begin hours before the first play is called, so pack your fridge with goodies and head to the field for a day of football fever. Don’t miss a second of one of the top tailgating parties in the region. Tailgate in one of the designated lots, visit the Titans Tailgate Lounge, or attend TitanUp Tailgate, just outside the gates of the stadium.

Tickets

Who is your favorite opponent for the Titans? Your ticket price will depend on which team is in town and how the players are working together toward the championship. The demand for tickets can play a part as well. Expect to pay between $80 and $350 per ticket, but remember that prices will fluctuate for tickets to the Tennessee Titans.

Transportation

Driving

Driving to a Tennessee Titans football game means maneuvering your rig through Downtown Nashville. Have a capable navigator at your side and enter the stadium coordinates for a straightforward trip. Sights of the Cumberland River may be in your view, and you will be near the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Make time to stop and explore this 19-acre plaza. Remember to use Tennessee 511 to keep on top of the road conditions and weather-related detours.

Parking areas

Purchase parking passes to Nissan Stadium in advance online, or buy your ticket as you arrive. Cash lots have been available on game day. Every vehicle must have a pass in the window or risk towing. ADA parking is first-come, first-served. Have your placard displayed in your motorhome window for easy access to one of the spots. RVers can park in designated lots for tailgating, or park elsewhere and head to TitanUp Tailgate.

Public Transportation

Consider catching the Music City Star Game Day Express train to the Nissan Stadium as a stress-free and relaxing way to commute to the game. Parking is free at each station. The first 650 commuters who reserve a ticket each event day get their transit for free. Taxi and ridesharing options are a good choice, as well, with drop off locations near the entrances.

Where to stay

Onsite

Camping or overnight parking of your RV is not part of your game day pass. There is a KOA Resort nearby, with large pull-through sites and a policy that welcomes pets. The Grand Ole Opry is a popular destination in Nashville, and several RV resorts are conveniently within proximity.

Nearby

Plan to explore Tennessee while in this part of the country. Radnor Lake State Park is a must if you are looking to experiencing the best birdwatching near Nashville. After a day trip there, head to Cedars of Lebanon State Park for year-round access to nature at its best. Enjoy hiking at Bledsoe Creek State Park and make it your home away from home for a few weeks.

Getting around

The atmosphere is a heightened one, and the venue will be crowded with everyone rushing to kickoff after the tailgating party. Put on your comfiest shoes and trek along with the rest of the fans. Wheelchair accessibility is important to Nissan Stadium management. There are wheelchairs for use if needed, but to make for a smooth day, contact the ADA department to be fully informed on regulations and seating.

What to pack

Clothing

Don your best team jersey over a long-sleeved shirt and you will be comfortable and warm for tailgating early in the season. In the later months, Titans fans might enjoy the game with a warm jacket and scarf at this outdoor stadium. A pair of jeans and shoes made for walking will round out your game day apparel. Wear a hat to protect your face from the sun and just in case, tote gloves and a hat in your bag.

Gear

A lantern for the picnic table creates the ideal ambiance for lively after-game discussion. Additional camping gear should include flashlights, batteries, and a portable radio. Toiletries, kitchen gear, clamps, and hoses must be on the list. Tools to bring include wrenches and screwdrivers, as well as the ever-handy multi-tool. Don't forget your game day gear in Titans blue and navy and maybe a little red, too.

Health & Safety

National Parks across the country focus on conservation and the environment. Keep this aim in mind when staying in the campground and be diligent in placing garbage in the proper receptacles. Leave the campsite clean when you depart and do not transfer wood from one campground to another so that invasive insect species are not moved across the state.

Where to eat

Cooking

Keep your fire contained within a fire ring at all times and never go to bed with active flames. One-pot meals over the fire are tasty options. Consider hearty stews and soups accompanied by sandwiches and salads. Stock up on charcoal briquets also, for burgers and hotdogs after a trek through the forest. Exercise makes for big appetites, so keep your Airstream's fridge full of goodies.

Restaurants

Are you thinking of trying a Nashville restaurant? Try a dish of Middle-Eastern fare or make chef’s night off a Mexican-themed dinner. Japanese cuisine is always a hit, too. Consider Nashville style southern cooking for a satisfying, home-cooked meal. Multiple tastes are within close proximity to Nissan Stadium.

Vendors

If you are hungry mid-game, head to one of several concessions stands at Nissan Stadium. Tacos, chicken, and grilled or barbecued snacks are yours for the enjoyment. Make time to shop for a Tennessee Titans wheel cover, a new jersey, or a mug for sipping a coffee fireside.

Safety

Security

If the kids are attending the Tennessee Titans Tailgating event, set ground rules for game day. Have them stay close by and keep an eye on them as they try their hand at the games set up in the tailgate lot. At camp, the same rule applies. Give them boundaries to make everyone’s vacation experience a safe one.

Weather

Football games go on rain or shine. Include a lightweight poncho in your bag to keep you dry. The action keeps going in the endzone, so be ready to cheer on your favorite team no matter the weather in Tennessee. Have extra food and water on hand at the campground in case a stormy day has you staying put.

Medical

A well-stocked first-aid kit in your motorhome medicine cabinet ensures that the inevitable bumps and bruises are taken care of as soon as they occur. Necessary supplies include bandaids, tweezers, peroxide, gauze, and tape. Make a kit for trekking and hiking, as well. Buy an emergency blanket, a mini-flashlight, and saline solution as extras.
