Located north of Hastings, Oklahoma, off Oklahoma Highway 5, Waurika Lake is a US Army COE park that is easy to locate and access by vacationers and visitors coming to the park in RVs, trailers, or other motorized vehicles. Navigation within the park’s areas is also easy. Equipment rentals are available for vacationers who require RVs and/or trailers northeast of this park at Duncan and Comanche.
Parking spaces are available for vacationers and visitors at and around Waurika Lake to park RVs, trailers, and cars. The campgrounds and recreation areas also have parking pads for vehicles. Moreover, overnight parking is also available.
There are no direct public transportation services to Waurika Lake.
Kiowa Park I campground, located on the shore of Waurika Lake is a pet-friendly campground that is open between March and September and available by reservation as well as on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are accepted in peak season only (May to September). Recreation activities at this campground include boating, fishing, and hunting.
This campground features 166 campsites available for tents and RVs, all of which are equipped with electric and water hookups for RVs and trailers. Two group campsites with picnic shelters are also present within the campground. Amenities include picnic tables, showers, a playground, and a swimming beach.

Chisholm Trail Ridge campground, located on the shore of Waurika Lake, is a pet-friendly campground that is open between May and September (peak season) and available by reservation. Recreation activities at this campground include boating, fishing, and hunting.
This campground features 95 campsites available for tents and RVs, all of which are equipped with electric hookups for RVs and trailers. Water hookups are available in 51 campsites. Campsite amenities include picnic tables, showers, boat ramp, playground, and a swimming beach.

Waurika Lake is popular among boating and skiing enthusiasts because the park has large areas of open water available for recreational pursuits on their boats. The scenic shoreline at the park as well as the available boat launch ramps are added incentives for pleasure boaters.
If you fancy this activity, you should set out for any of the four large embarkments on the lake, as well as the smaller coves present. Remember that Oklahoma boating laws and COE regulations govern boating in this park. Also, practice safe boating.

Walker Creek Trail, a 13-mile trail that winds along the creek in the park through gently rolling hills and wooded areas is available to both hikers and equestrians at the park.
Plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities are available on this trail. The other trail, Beaver Creek Trail, features various interlocking dirt hiking trails accessible by non-ambulatory persons.
About 10 square miles of wildlife management area is available at Waurika Lake for wildlife-related recreation. This area, managed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, features various upland game, waterfowl, white-tailed deer, mallards, as well as other wildlife species.

Many swimming opportunities are available to visitors and campers at Waurika Lake. This US Army Corps of Engineers park has swimming beaches that are located at both the Kiowa Park I and Chisholm Trail campgrounds for day users and campers to use. Shower facilities are provided at both swimming areas too. The use of boats within the swimming areas is prohibited so that swimming will be safe. Beach users are also encouraged to practice safe swimming in the lake.
